"Splendor in the Grass"

Splendor in the Grass

Two
lovers'
young hearts
in mortal pain.
Tatters, fragments now.
Dark sadness cries, telling
of a dream once new and bright.
Those moments, now frozen in time.
Long remembrance of youth's passionate,
fleeting, sweet embrace, bathed in innocence.
never recaptured, that "Splendor in the Grass."
Broken hearts grieving, no consolation.
Youthful love lost, now lies shattered,
destroyed, but never forgotten.
Memories remain;
the sweet time;
their first
Love!
