The Gray-Faced Man
how different his life would be if he could do it over

The gray-faced man was counting…
his sins.

He counted the lies he had said
and the excuses he used.
that made his life easier.

He counted the stealing he had done;
not banks or stores,
but from his boss.
Stealing time and work
he shouldn't  have done.

He counted the attitudes
he had shown.
The lack of love and care
in the things he had
said and done.

Tears fell
when his biggest sin
came to him.

Why hadn’t he
been thankful for what
His Creator had given him?
Why hadn’t he
lived and loved thankfully
instead of counting his sins?
