to say farewell
An Etheree poem about the ocean and love

sparse
daylight
thunder clouds
mottled sunset
swift electric bolts
color the horizon
sudden fugitive visions —
a rainbow in the blue shadows
of love harvesting hope in my eyes
wavering between you and solitude

I am lost in your love’s turbulent waves
like a scene of desperate drama
tied to the anchor of our faith
my heart suffocates alone
in our bleak theatre
while outside the winds
bluster and scream
farewell tears…
bitter
rain

to say farewell
