Thank You
A poem for the man who kept me going when times were really tough!

For Michael.

You lift me up with words so kind,
They give me sight when I am blind
And free me when I feel confined.
You ease my mind, you ease my mind.

You listen with your patient ears,
Laugh at my jokes and share my cheers,
Then push me to confront my fears.
You catch my tears, you catch my tears.

You sit with me to share my pain,
Support me, help relieve the strain.
You calm me when I am insane.
Sad feelings wane, sad feelings wane.

I thank you, now, for staying true,
For always being thoughtful too
And helping me to make it through,
For being you. For being you.

(Form: Monotetra. Mono rhyme scheme in 4 lines of 8 syllables (per stanza). Last line contains two metrical feet, repeated).
