A TIME FOR HEALING

God looked down on the world He created one day
and saw that the people down there had gone astray.
He shook His head and the tears started to flow,
"I've got to save them, but how I just don't know."

Now, being God, He devised an unusual kind of plan,
(If He couldn't save the people below, nobody can!)
He called His angels to come and do His bidding
and at first they must have thought He was kidding.

"Take a message to Mary, she will be the only one
who will be the mother of a newborn, my own Son!"
The angels nodded, and they accepted His feeling
for they could see it was, indeed, a time for healing.

"His name will be Jesus Christ, of Nazareth" He said,
"He will heal the sick, save souls and raise the dead"
You may have read the story and you know it's true,
He died on the cross - for folks like me and you.

But the time that He had spent here on this earth
was to bring people back to God, and it was worth
the pain and suffering that He had to endure
to cleanse the souls of all and make them pure.

Now Jesus sits beside His Father in Heaven above
and radiates his Father's undying kind of love.
He's had to make it a point to take a trip or two
to come back down, finding more spirits to renew.

Praise God for His tender mercy and loving care!
Know that He will, for us, always be right there -
when we are in pain and sorrow, and we are feeling
that we are in dire need of a time for healing.
