I have written a lot ever since I was a little boy. The first thing I remember writing on paper was a story called “Matthew’s World” which was about an American boy living in Japan who flies to America and has lots of escapades; it wasn’t finished though. I was inspired by my interest in the country of Japan (which my sister is surprisingly into now) and my interest in Pokemon (I put Ash Ketchum in the story). The first real work I’ve written and am working on today is a novel called “Lightning Before Daybreak.” It was inspired by a terrible thunderstorm that I experienced on a trip in Massachusetts, by the concept of anthropomorphics, by Brett Booth’s wonderful anthro art, and by the hatred that is being thrown at the furry fandom subculture. The thought of how hateful some people are of innocent furries is what drives me to write more and more of my story and I really would like to let the oblivious people, even the Anti-Defamation League, about this hate. The hate is still inspiring, especially for the reasons that the Tsenundis hate the Lamenans in the story; it also inspires stereotypes that the Tsenundis have of Lamenans and diction made by the villain of the story, General Hoss. A personal goal of mine is to have this story finished by 2009, when our next president (most likely a liberal) is inaugurated. I do think of myself as a casual writer, since I write what comes to mind. Whenever I receive criticisms, I would gladly listen and learn from them. I write whenever I feel the urge; I plan to take breaks after writing whole chapters and then going back and writing some more. Writing isn’t the only thing that I do, either. I go about my life like everyone else and do what must be done (eating, grooming, learning, and all else). I also do other enjoyable things such as listening to the beautiful voice of Chloe Agnew, drawing pictures of anthropomorphic animals, looking at other people’s pictures of such animals, and learning to play the piano. There are many things I’d like to be and an author is just one of them.
