My Soul Mate
Rated: E | Poetry | Romance/Love | #1404361
Written in a combination of English & Irish Gaelic. 2nd PLACE WINNER!
"Mo ánam cara"
You always say

Since we met on that day.
Óinseach, I am not
Unless this strong
Love I feel

Means it'll last long.
And my heart sings with zeal
To you, "céad mile fáilte"
Every time you are near.

Irish Gaelic Translation:
Mo ánam cara (pronounced muh an-um carr-ah) - my soul mate
Óinseach (pronounced own-shuck) - foolish woman
céad mile fáilte (pronounced kad meel-a fall-sha) - a hundred thousand welcomes

*Shamrock*  This was written for entry in the Monthly Acrostic Poetry Contest.  The prompt for round 14 (March 2008) was "anything that represents 'Irish'".  This poem came in 2nd Place!
