A friendship is a battleship,
Prepared to fight with armour made Of iron plate, secure and strong, A ship of pride on ocean blue. When seas split people, distance vast, The boat will battle, friendships last. On calmer seas the ebb and flow Will gently move the friendship on. The bonds are held by anchors hooked In souls below the surf. Adrift at times, though never dead, As friends in mellow waters tread. Through playful spray and breakers, fast, A friendship bounds with joy, in fun; The sail released to catch the wind, To sweep it through the seas. It surfs the waves with spirit free And chases zephyrs, filled with glee. It comes at unexpected times, Afloat on seas of stormy life And never falls beneath the waves, Though raging they may be. It sails through veins to find the heart; Once there it stays, it won't depart. The Revanche II: four quatrains (blank verse) alternated with four rhyming couplets. First quatrain = iambic tetrameter. Remaining quatrains = first three lines in iambic tetrameter and the fourth line in iambic trimeter. Couplet = iambic tetrameter. (I hope this all makes sense!)
