GETTING OLDER BY THE MINUTE
As I complete my sixty Six years and move ahead, I know I would never make The target of hundred. In fact every morning I, To myself, do remind That in keeping me going, The Lord to me is kind. Many have perished out of Those who came in my life, Friends and colleagues and even My life partner, my wife. I have a feeling now that Older by the minute, I am getting day by day, Soon my life will be shut. Does that mean that I am stressed? No, why should that be so? My Heavenly Father knows What His son needs below. He fulfills my every want And tells me what to do. He gave me His commandments That are His own words true. When he calls me I shall go Without any regret. But, till then I must work hard, This I should not forget. May He see to it that I Don't while my time away. May I keep on working and Praying, that is the way. • Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 format • Awarded third prize in the "SENIOR CENTER FORUM" contest, "SENIOR CENTER FORUM" M C Gupta 23 March 2008
