Fallen Angel
Even angels can fall from grace.

Angels can fall from grace.
This I know is true.
And when one falls flat on her face,
She looks just like me and you.

She’ll amble about, knowing not
What happened to her or why.
She’ll think about her fall a lot.
She’ll dwell on it and cry.

There is no valid reason
For her wings to be so broken.
She committed no crime or treason
No blasphemy was spoken.

You can’t go on denying
That nothing has gone wrong
She knows that you’re just lying
And she’ll just keep moving along

For the one thing to her most inhumane
For which she could not forgive
Is to see that she has caused you pain
A sin with which she cannot live

And when the day arrives at last
That she has made you cry
She’ll make sure it’s over fast
And softly say good bye.
