*~*
I travelled in Germany for a couple weeks...and spent a few days in Frankfurt. While there, I visited the house where Johann Wolfgang Gothe lived. In that house was a room where he wrote many of his works, including the famous 'Faust'. While there, I found myself in sheer awe of the history behind where I was, especially as an amateur writer. That experience inspired this poem. *~* A Brief Moment In Time A single spot A stain of ink From so many years ago A brief moment in time Neglected by so great a master As a single drop spills from his quill Was it a pensive moment? Was it flung from a frantic dash for more ink? A moment of inspiration? Of Genius? Now, hundreds of years later... I find myself fascinated with such a spot, among so many others Where hundreds of hours were spent writing Works which I could only dream to aspire. Of those hours, a mere moment holds me in awe... A single spot A stain of ink From so many years ago Did he even notice, I wonder?
