Panic
A CinqTroisDecaLa Rhyme about a panic attack. Written for Stretch Your Style, week 7.

I can sense it sneaking up, inching its way into my soul,
The stench of fear is overpowering, it swallows me whole.
The shadows start to taunt me, in my lunacy I go blind;
I can feel the phantoms from my past and hear them in my mind.
A fist of iron grips my heart, I can barely even breathe;
I want to scream for help, my words taste bitter and make me heave.
I gasp for air and clutch my chest, insanity will not leave;
The maddened monster in my mind makes me start to lose control,
I sob unrestrainedly, why can't I leave this all behind?
I have lost the will to fight, to live, now I can only grieve.

Form: CinqTroisDecaLa Rhyme - 10 lines of 15 syllables, rhyme scheme = AABBCCCABC.
Element: Try to use the five senses.
Optional prompt: Use the colour green to inspire you. Does it represent emotion to you? A person? A fond memory you have? (I didn't use the prompt!)
