the color of death
frozen winter horizons, and personal ones unmoving after his death

white everywhere
silky tree branches
round-topped fence posts
frosty evergreens
and endless slippery plains
snowfall obstructing a sky
of cotton candy paleness
everything is suspended
in white paint
a wintery evening gown
of elegant immobility —
and while the silence reigns
waiting for angel song
this whiteness resembles
the frozen tears of death
which may never melt
into sweet memories

the color of death
