The Keep

The Keep

What rocky fortress is this keep
that chills my very blood?
What evil in the night will creep
and cause a crimson flood?

Echoes sound from cavern walls
as thunder fills the night,
in places where this terror crawls
it fills my heart with fright.

Ghoulish nightmares haunt my sleep
and madness rules my dreams,
as phantoms of this cold dark keep
torment me with their screams.

When life's elixir ebbs away
and night is all that's left,
will shadows of a killer lay
hidden in the cleft?

And as the misty moonlight falls
inside this cave so deep,
what evil breeds within these walls
and dwells inside this keep?
