Jessica Palmer the Atom

This is based on Jessica Palmer the Atom from DC Comics. She is an alternate version of the Atom her only appearance is in Countdown #30 and her Earth was destroyed. But her death is never shown. Jessica Palmer was working on a new invention in her lab. She was already famous for her work in shrinking. She had created a belt that could shrink herself infinitely. She was a prodigy. She was 18 and already one of the smartest and well respected scientists of her time. But she felt a little funny. She felt that something bad was going to happen soon.
Jessica was a few inches tall and attaching a few attaching some cables into the machine. It was some sort of portal to other dimensions. Since she met Donna Troy and the second Robin came from an alternate reality (The main DC Universe). This had motivated her to create this machine. (Events of her encounter are in Countdown #30).
Just then a loud male voice boomed over her. She could recognise it as her name and she took a step away from the wires. She then activated her belt and she began to grow. She walked away from the machine as she grew and in a few seconds she was up to her full size. This was around about 5'8.
She saw a man standing there. He was one of her assistants and also her lover. She came up to him and gave him a big hug.
"Jay," said Jessica.
"And how's my little super heroine doing?" replied Jay.
"I'm fine thanks." She then gave him a quick kiss. "So what's up? Have the Justice League called or something?"
"No we have another problem."
Jessica then saw a man walk through the door. She quickly looked at him and just stood there. He was a very important man and she had to respect him.
"So Professor Palmer," he said.
"Please call me Jessica," replied Jessica. "Being called Professor makes me feel old."
"Anyway Jessica. What's your progress?"
"Well Mr. Smith I'm just putting the finishing touches on it. I should have it up and running in a few hours."
"Good the University supporters are coming in the afternoon. Will you have it done by then?"
"Yes sir. I should get it up and running."
"Excellent."
He then went away and Jessica turned back to Jay. She smiled at him and gave him another hug.
"Sorry about that," said Jessica.
"Anyway shall we have dinner tonight?" asked Jay.
"Sure where and when?"
"The usual place at 8."
"I'll see you there. Err sorry but I've got to rush you off. I've got to get this thing working."
Jay then left and Jessica shrank back down and continued to work on the portal. She needed to get everything right.
A few hours later and the room was full of people wearing expensive business suits. They were waiting for this so called Prodigy to show herself. Everyone was becoming impatient.
"Don't worry everyone she'll be here soon," said Mr. Smith. "I hope."
Just then on the table next to the portal Jessica began to grow. She had been microscopic and waiting for everyone to come. Now that everyone was here she decided to introduce herself. Everyone was amazed to see her grow. She was now roughly a foot tall.
"Hello everyone my name is Professor Jessica Palmer," she said. She then jumped off the table as she grew taller. "I want to thank you for coming this afternoon." By then she was at her full size. "Let me show you my latest creation." She then turned on the portal. "This is a dimension portal. Using this I will be able to go into another dimension."
"That can't be," said a business man. "That's all science fiction."
"No its science fact. We've had visitors from an Earth from another dimension. With this I can explore these dimensions."
"But how will you get back?"
"With this." She held up her arm and it had a wrist device. "This will allow me to return to this dimension as long as the portal isn't destroyed." She then typed in a few settings. "Now prepare to be amazed."
She then turned around and walked through the portal. The next thing Jessica knew she was going through some sort of dimensional stream and she landed on the other side. It was a bit of a rough landing and she picked herself up.
"Ok next time I do something like that I'll have to make myself a better landing," she said the herself. But then she looked over the horizon and she saw a city. She jumped in excitement. "Yes I've done it. I'm in an alternate dimension. Or this could be my world and I'm just gotten to a different location." She picked up a newspaper that was a national one. It was just by her feet and it said US Today. This wasn't one that they had in her dimension. "Yep I'm in another dimension."
She then looked around a little more. She kept the newspaper as evidence. She decided that it was best to get back and she pushed the button on her wrist device. But nothing happened.
"No it can't be," said Jessica. "I created it perfectly it shouldn't give up on me." she then began to think. "The portal must be destroyed (Also with her Earth, see Countdown #24). But that means?" She then shed a tear. "I'm stuck in this dimension."

"Crap I'm stuck here what do I do?" asked Jessica. She then thought for a moment. "I know I'll give the Justice League a call. Unless they're." She then got her Justice League communicator and she put it to her mouth. "This is the Atom does anyone read me?" But she got nothing. "No one seems to be there." She then looked towards the city. "Looks like I've gotta get some help."
She then walked towards the road. She knew that she needed to hitch hike. She stood there for a few minutes before somebody pulled over. Jessica didn't exactly like the fact that she had to hitch hike. But it was her only option.
Jessica got into the car and she saw a woman sitting in the driver's seat. She had long brown hair and she had brown eyes. She looked over to her.
"Where are you going to a fancy dress party?" she asked.
"No," replied Jessica.
"Do you need to go into the city?"
"Yeah."
"Then I'll take you there."
The woman then drove her car. She headed towards the city and she looked at Jessica a little.
"So what's your name?" asked the Woman.
"Jessica," replied Jessica.
"I'm Sarah."
"Thanks for picking me up Sarah."
"You're welcome now where did you need to go to?"
"I need to find someone who can contact the Justice League."
"What?"
"Do you know anyone who can?"
"You mean the group with Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and the Green Lantern?"
"Yes that's exactly them."
"You sure you're not imagining things?"
"No why?"
"They're just comic characters."
"What?" This was like an earth shattering moment to Jessica and she couldn't come to terms with it. "What did you say?"
"I said they're just comic characters. A friend of mine buys them and I sometimes read them."
"Please tell me you're kidding."
"No I'm not. You didn't think those guys are real did you?"
"They are real."
"No offence but I think you're a few cards short of a full deck. Let me guess you're going to say that you have powers?"
"I do."
"Oh brother. What are they then?"
"With this belt I can shrink myself to sub atomic size."
"Yeah right."
"It's true." She then activated her belt and Jessica rapidly shrank to doll size. Sarah looked in amazement.
"Oh my God."
"See I told you."
"This can't be real."
"I can make myself a lot smaller then this. But I need you to help me."

Sarah still looked at Jessica. She still couldn't believe what had just happened. But she had taken her eyes off the road and she nearly went off it. When this happened Sarah put her concentration back on the road. She almost had an accident or something like that.
"What do you want me to do?" asked Sarah. She was still in some shock at the tiny woman in her car.
"Well right now I need somewhere to stay. I need to see if I can somehow get back to my world."
"Well you could stay at my place."
"Where do you live?"
"At the University. I'm still doing my course there and I've got my own dormitory. It's a little small."
"Don't worry I'll shrink myself so I don't take up so much space." Jessica then used her belt to increase her size to normal. "Is this more comfortable for you?"
"Yeah. But that was strange. Are you saying there are alternate realities? If so how many?"
"Yes there are alternate realities. I'm guessing there's an infinite amount. I think it goes like this. Have you ever made a life changing decision?"
"Sure."
"What was it?"
"Well to either go to Stranford University or Bucknel University."
"Which did you choose?"
"Stranford."
"Well in an alternate reality you decided to go to Bucknel. For everything that happens where you have a decision. You go one way and in an alternate reality another you goes the other way."
"Really?"
"Yeah just like that."
By then the car had gotten into the city. There was a lot of traffic. Sarah put on the radio and Bob Marley was on the radio. The song Buffalo Soldier was on. Jessica was a little confused.
"Who is this?" asked Jessica.
"This is Bob Marley," replied Sarah. "He's a Reggae singer."
"Have you been to see him live?"
"No he died in 1981."
"What year is it now?"
"2008."
"Good that's the same year as I left."
After an hour in traffic Sarah eventually got to the university. By then Jessica had taken off her mask and she looked at the university. She could see students going inside. She felt a little proud.
"This place looks amazing," said Jessica.
"It's one of the most prestigious universities in the country," replied Sarah. "You have to get high grades to get in here."
"So I take it that you did."
"Nah I'm the janitor."
"But you said."
"I'm only kidding. I really am a student."
The pair then went inside and went up to Sarah's room. She was the only one living there. She had a student living next door but other then that she was alone in there. It was fairly small but seemed to be enough.

"You have this entire room to yourself?" asked Jessica.
"Yep," replied Sarah. "My room mate dropped out so since then I've been in here by myself."
"Do you like it like that?"
"No sometimes I get bored not being able to talk to anyone."
"That's a shame."
"Well I have you to talk to now."
"What?"
"Well since you've got nowhere to go and I need companionship you could stay here."
"But where will I sleep?"
"I've got an old doll's house at my parent's house. I can get them to bring it here and you can stay in there."
"Well alright. But I'll still need to try and find my way back to my dimension. You don't mind that do you?"
"Of course not. Besides this university has one of the best science areas in the world."
"The world? Please show me this science lab of yours."
"Well I do have a lesson there in half an hour."
"That's fine."
The half an hour soon went and Sarah went to her lesson. Jessica had shrunk herself to an inch in height and she sat in Sarah's pocket. She looked at the lecturer who was talking.
Jessica listened to what he was saying. But the science he was telling them was like elementary school level to her. She already knew everything he was saying and she knew a lot more.
"This is so hard," said Sarah.
"No this is easy," replied Jessica.
"I can't get my head around all this."
"How about this. Since you're keeping me for a while I'll be your private tutor. You get me access to this lab and I'll get you high grades. Deal?"
"Deal."
After class the teathcer left the lab and Sarah went in. She put Jessica on a table and she began to look around.
"Wow look at all of this stuff," said Jessica.
"I told you there would be," replied Sarah.
"I think i can use these things to get back home."
"You want to leave already?"
"Yeah I've got someone back home who's probably waiting for me. Besides no offence but I want to see the Justice League."
"Alright."
"Now I've just gotta make myself bigger." She then activated her belt and she grew up to her normal size. She stepped off the table while she grew. "That's better." But she noticed Sarah still staring in amazement.
"I'll never get over that. I've seen people shrink in cartoons and movies. But never anyone right in front of me."
"I was a little like that when I first did this."
"There was something I was wondering. Since you can make yourself smaller could you grow beyond your normal size?"
"No I haven't gotten that far yet."

"Alright then but I was just wondering," said Sarah.
"Don't worry I'm not in that much of a hurry to become super sized," replied Jessica. "I'll deal with it when the time comes."
Sarah then looked at some of the equipment with Jessica. She wasn't too sure about all of these items but Jessica seemed excited.
"So is this stuff good enough?" asked Sarah.
"For what I want to do it's perfect. But it'll take some time for me to get all of this ready. I think I'll have to create the teleportation deice at night. If I work all night then I can go to sleep during the day while you're in your classes. Then when you come back I can help you with your work."
"That sounds great. So you want me to come and pick you up from here first thing in the morning?"
"Yes that would be great."
"But what if someone comes in?"
"Easy I can shrink myself out of sight."
"Is there anything that belt of yours can't do?"
"It can't get me home unfortunately."
"You'll get home one day."
"I hope." She then looked at the equipment a little longer. "Ok you can leave me here and pick me up in the morning."
"Ok Ill see you later."
Sarah then left the lab and Jessica began to get to work. She found some goggles on for her own protection. But she also found a lab coat there. She figured that she would wear it as a disguise so at first glance she looked like a professor of this university.
Jessica worked hard and for long hours. She didn't have any breaks up rest periods. She just kept working and working. There was a point where a security officer was about to come in on her. But she was able to shrink and hide herself before she was seen.
When the guard went away she grew back up to her original size. She panted a little and went back to work.
But not too long later Sarah came back. Jessica was surprised to see her. She stopped what she was doing.
"What are you doing here so soon Sarah?" asked Jessica.
"Well it's already morning," replied Sarah.
"What?" Jessica then looked outside and saw that it was dawn. She couldn't believe how fast the time had gone. "Wow its morning already."
"Yes and the professor will be here soon."
"Alright."
Jessica then used her belt to shrink herself down to a few inches and she was picked up by Sarah. She then walked out of the lab and she went up to the dormitories. Her room was there and Jessica saw a doll's house on the ground near the bed.
"You brought that here for me?" asked Jessica.
"Yeah I brought it for you yesterday evening," replied Sarah. "And if you wanted to I've got some PJs that you could borrow."
"Thanks."
A little later Jessica has taken off her atom costume and put some of Sarah's PJs on. But since Sarah was a few inches taller then Jessica the PJs were quite large. But they made due.

"They're a little big but they'll do," said Jessica.
"Sorry I know I'm not an identical size to you," replied Sarah.
"No they fine." She then got her belt and she shrank herself down to doll sized. The world looked gigantic to her. But the house seemed to be normal size. "See you after your lessons."
"Goodnight Jessica."
Jessica then walked into her Doll house and she went upstairs. She was amazed to see that everything looked very realistic. If she didn't know any better she would have thought that she was in a normal house.
Eventually she got to the bedroom. She saw a nice comfy bed waiting for her. It wasn't until she saw the bed that she realised just how tired she really was. She gave out a yawn.
"Working all night can sure make a girl tired," she said.
She then went into the bed and almost the instant her head hit the pillow she fell asleep. She had little dreams that didn't make much sense. But they were just some random dreams.
But a few hours later she was awoken by the opening of the door. She jolted away and she looked out of her window. She saw what seemed to be a man going into the room.
"Crap someone's trying to steal from Sarah," said Jessica to herself. "He's not getting anything."
Jessica then put her size changing belt on and she went outside. She couldn't tell much about the man from where she was but she guessed that he was another student of the university.
She went behind him and she instantly increased her size back up to normal. She then grabbed him from behind and got him into a choke hold. She then turned him around. She saw that he was roughly 5'11 with black hair and brown eyes. He seemed to have a little beard growing. He was wearing a Star Wars t-shirt.
"W-who are you?" he asked.
"I could ask you the same question," replied Jessica. Now I've had training from one of the best fighters in the world. I suggest that you don't fight back." She then gave him an evil smile.
"Please don't hurt me."
"Then don't try and steal anything from Sarah."
"Steal?"
"Yes you're here to teal her stuff right?"
"No she gave me her keys so that she could get some of her books." He then showed her the keys that Sarah had. She instantly let him go.
"Oh I am so sorry."
"That's alright. But who are you?"
"I'm." She tried to think. "I'm Jessica, Sarah's cousin from Canada."
"You don't sound Canadian."
"Well I've been in this country for a while so I've picked up the accent Buddy."
She hoped that this would convince him that she was Canadian. But he was still confused about something.
"Where did you come from?" he asked. "You weren't in here when I came in. And you didn't come through the door."
"I, I." She thought again. "Slept under the bed?"
"Under the bed?"
"Sure no where safer then under the bed." She then tried to smile.

He just looked at Jessica while she tried to smile at her. Although she was a good thinker on her feet she knew that she wasn't a particularly good liar. She just hoped that she had fooled him.
"It's a little weird but I guess you're right," he said. He then held out his hand. "I'm Aaron I'm a good friend of Sarah's."
"Nice to meet you Aaron eh," replied Jessica. She had put some emphasis on the eh to make herself sound more Canadian even though she knew that it was only a stereotype.
"Well I better be getting back to class."
"Ok see you later buddy."
Aaron then left with the book and Jessica just felt embarrassed about what had just happened. Her face had all turned red and she held her head in her hands. She had only felt like this a few times in her life.
But the next thing she knew she could feel herself becoming tired again. She shrank herself back down to doll size and she went back to bed. Although it took a little longer this time she went to sleep.
"Jessica," said a Voice. This woke her up from her sleep and she yawned. But the next thing she saw was the roof coming off of the house. She then saw Sarah above her. "Jessica."
"What?" replied Jessica.
"It seems that you're my cousin from the North."
"Sorry about that. I had to think quick before anyone got really suspicious."
"But now I'm screwed. What am I going to say to everyone?"
"That I'm your Canadian cousin."
"And that you sleep under the bed?"
"Say I'm scared of sleeping on it."
"That's going to sound too weird."
"Well there are some weird fears. There's this one who I saw on the TV who was afraid of sowing buttons."
"Alright. But there's something I need to ask you."
"What's that?"
"There's this game show coming to town for people who are really smart. I was wondering if you wanted to enter with me."
"But I'm don't know much about this dimension."
"Who was the first President of America?"
"George Washington."
"See it's still the same. Besides I want to take you out to get some new clothes and shoes."
"Why?"
"You might be here for a while and all of my clothes are too big for you. So you need some new ones."
"But I don't have a penny to my name here."
"That's why you have me for."
An hour later Sarah took Jessica out to the mall to get some clothes. She had to borrow some of Jessica's clothes for now. She had to wear Sarah's highest heels so that the bottom of her jeans didn't touch the floor. She wore a shirt that was a little too small for Sarah but seemed to be right for Jessica. She looked at the prices and she stared in disbelief.
"We can't afford these," said Jessica.
"That's what I have this for," replied Sarah. She showed Jessica her credit card. "Daddy said that he would give me some money."

"But where can he get this kind of money?" asked Jessica.
"He owns a bakery chain," replied Sarah. "Not as big of a business as Wal-Mart of Microsoft. But it gives him quite a lot of money."
"Wow so you're the daughter of a successful business man. I thought you would have an interest in the family business."
"No my brother's getting it. I want to become a vet. I love animals to bits. I would have a pet but the University doesn't accept animals."
"That's sad. But you're doing science as well. High level science."
"Well I was hoping to be a researcher in vets. You know finding cures for diseases and things like that."
"The only thing I can do I give you the best of luck. And a little help."
"Thanks. No let's see if there's anything here you can wear."
Fifteen minutes later Jessica came out of a changing room. She was wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans and a pair of sneakers. They were the right size for her and Sarah looked at her.
"What do you think?" asked Jessica.
"You look great," replied Sarah. "But you need more then one more outfit."
"But this is enough for me."
"Well you may be stuck here for a while and you can't wear the same clothes day in day out. You're not a cartoon character."
"I guess you're right."
An hour later the pair left the clothes shop with a lot of bags. There were a lot of different clothes in there. There were casual clothes, summer clothes, going out clothes and really fancy clothes. The bill was a couple of hundred dollars but Sarah just put it on the card.
The pair went to the food court and they sat down and had a hot dog and a soda together.
"Sarah I'll pay you the money back as soon as I can," said Jessica.
"Don't worry about it," replied Sarah. "You don't have to give me anything back at all."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah I'm sure."
"Wow you're amazing. You've known me for only a day and you've given me a home and a new wardrobe." She then shed a tear. "I don't know how I can thank you."
"Oh don't cry. Any decent person would have done the same. Unfortunately there's not that many decent people left in the world."
"I know that but I was lucky to find you."
"I'm just wondering. What's your world like?"
"Well my world is a lot similar to this one. But there are a lot of super heroes. I was one of them." She then giggled a little. "I remember what it was like the first time I shrank."
"What happened?"
"Well I created the belt to prove my theory of reducing matter. It worked a little too well. I shrank so small that I was almost eaten by a common housefly. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. But thankfully I was able to make myself normal size again. But when I did I tried going beyond my normal size. But the belt wouldn't let me. Increasing mass above normal is an entire different ball game."
"Wow you were microscopic? Have you ever gotten that small again?"
"Yes once I got so small that I literally fought against bacteria."

"What happened?" asked Sarah. "If it's not too traumatic."
"No not at all," replied Jessica. "It was exciting. You see a student of mine at the university had gotten herself exposed to some kind of element and she shrank to that size. I had to shrink after her."
"Wow."
"I know it does sound a little unbelievable. But she eventually reached the microbes. She would have been killed but I fought off the bacteria for her. I stayed at a size that seemed gigantic to the bacteria."
"What happened next?"
"Well she continued to shrink. At one time she was only a spec on my hand."
"Couldn't you have shrunk after her again?"
"No if I got any smaller the bacteria would have posed a serious threat. But thankfully I was able to give her the cure before she shrunk to a sub atomic size. But when she grew back up she was six inches shorter then normal. She was fairly short anyway so it was quite a lot."
"Didn't she ever get back to her normal height?"
"No we only had enough of the cure to get her to that. The elements of the cure were way too rare to find. But she was thankful and she made due. She had to buy herself an entire new wardrobe but other then that she was fine."
"You should really write a book about that."
"Nah I'm no good at writing stories."
"There was just one thing I want to ask. Have you ever actually seen an atom?"
"No I've never gotten that small before. Even if I did I doubt I could breathe." She then sipped her drink."
"Why would you say that?"
"Well the oxygen atoms I breathe to live would be too big to fit into my lungs and thus I would suffocate."
"I never thought of it like that."
"And there's something I just wanted to ask you."
"Go for it."
"Who's that Aaron?"
"Oh him I've been friends with him since kindergarten. He's a bit of a nerd but not the bad kind."
"What does he do?"
"Well he's in advanced Physics. He also reads a lot of comics and he loves Star Wars."
This had gotten Jessica a little confused. "What's Star Wars?"
"You're kidding right?" She then saw the confused look on Jessica's face. "I guess you're not. Well Star wars is a Science Fiction group of films. But they were so popular that there's been cartoon series, books, comics toys everything about it. It's a very long story."
"Are the films any good?"
"I admit they're alright but I'm not really into science fiction. But Aaron would tell you everything about it."
"What films are you into?"
"I like Comedies. The Scary Movie films are good."
"What are they?"
"They're spoofs to other films. Just call it stupid comedies. They get low ratings but they get a lot of laughs."
"The mall will be closing in fifteen minutes," said an Over voice.
"Guess we've gotta go," said Jessica.

“I could help you study before I go back to my trans-dimensional portal,” said Jessica. This got Sarah a little clueless. “My device to get me home.”
“You could stay a little longer?” replied Sarah.
“Sure and if it works I can come and visit you whenever I want. You might even visit my world.” She then smiled.
“I’d like that.”
The two girls then finished their drinks and then they went back to the car. They stuffed all the bags into the boot of the car and then they drove back to the University. They were back in a matter of minutes. But Jessica felt a little sick after that car journey. She took a few deep breaths.
“Are you alright?” asked Sarah.
“Yeah I’m fine,” replied Jessica. “I think I drank my soda a little too fast.”
“Well just be careful alright.”
The pair then got the bags from the boot and they took them up to Sarah’s room. But they had one little problem.
“I don’t think I’ve got enough room in my closet for your clothes as well as mine,” said Sarah. “Got any bright ideas?”
“Is there a closet in the doll house?” replied Jessica.
“Yeah there’s one.”
“The watch this.” Jessica then pulled out her belt that was under her clothes. She grabbed two of the bags and she pressed on her belt to shrink. She then began to shrink and the clothes bags shrank with her. Sarah looked at her.
“You never told me you could do that.”
“Well I can. It’s a neat little trick. I could shrink an entire planet with this.”
“It’s that powerful?”
“Yes I did it to Earth once to stop it from being hit by a meteor. She then paused for a moment. “I mean my Earth.”
“Can you shrink people with that?”
“Yeah.”
“Well this may sound a little crazy but could you shrink me with that?”
“Yeah sure it’ll be a piece of cake. Only catch is when I shrink someone or something I shrink with them. So if I shrunk you right now you’d be my size and I’d only be a few millimetres tall.”
“Ok.”
“let me just put these clothes inside then I’ll come right back out.”
Jessica then went inside the doll house and she put the clothes on her bed. She then went back outside to where Sarah was. She then grew in size until she was back up to her normal size. She held onto Sarah’s shoulder.
“Can you just grab my clothes?” asked Jessica.
“Yeah sure,” replied Sarah. She then picked up the remaining clothes.
“Are you ready?”
“Yes.”
“Ok here we go.” Jessica then activate the belt and she began to shrink. Sarah also began to shrink. She looked around as she saw everything grow around her. She was amazed with what she was seeing.
Eventually the pair were down to doll size. Sarah looked around the now giant world. She almost fell over.
“Oh my God I’m tiny,” said Sarah.
“It can be a little confusing at first,” replied Jessica. “But when you do it a few times you get use to it.”
“This is amazing. How can anyone not like this?”
“When a Godzilla sized fly is trying to eat you.”
“Ok that’s one time.”
“Now shall we go inside?”
The pair then went towards the house. Jessica easily went through the door. But when Sarah tried to go in she hit her head on the door frame.
“Ouch,” she said.
“Oh sorry,” replied Jessica. “I forgot that you were taller then me. I was short enough to get through the door fine. But you hit your head.”
“I know. Remind me that on the way out.”

Sarah looked around in the house. She had never seen it from the inside like this. She had never noticed the detail of the house. It was like she was in a real house. But she also felt very tall in the house. In comparison she was at least 6'8 tall. This was 9 inches taller then her usual 5'11.
"Wow look at all this," said Sarah. "I've never noticed it like this. And I feel really tall in here."
"If you want me to I can cut a centimetre off you," replied Jessica.
"No I'm fine really."
"Good now just help me bring my bags up to my room."
"Sure."
The girls then took the bags of clothes upstairs to the room. But Jessica noticed that these clothes were bigger then the ones she had brought up earlier. She had to deal with it.
"Oops these are too big," said Jessica. She then held onto them and she used her belt to make herself even smaller. She shrank until she seemed to be normal height in the doll house. Sarah now looked even taller compared to her. She looked up at her. "Wow you look really tall now."
"Don't rub it in," replied Sarah.
"Sorry."
"That's alright. But I think we could have a little fun being small. You don't have to start working for another hour or so."
"Sure what did you want to do?"
"Could you make me so small that the carpet seems like a large forest? That would be fun?"
"I could do it. But it'll be dangerous. You might be attacked by dust bites. I couldn't put you in that danger."
"Well you could stay big. Well still tiny but big in comparison to me. You could be like a giant guardian."
"I guess that could work."
"Great."
The girls then went outside of the doll's house. Obviously they put all the clothes neatly in the closet first and then they went out. Jessica put her hand on Sarah's shoulder and then she pressed the button on her belt and they both shrank smaller. Sarah watched the giant world grow even bigger. She could see her going through the carpet. When she stopped each strand of carpet was the size of a tree. This was about 30 feet high in comparison.
Then Jessica took her hand off of Sarah's shoulder and she increased her size until she was 50 feet in comparison to the tiny Sarah.
"Jessica you're a giant," said Sarah. She then smiled since she knew the truth. This made Jessica giggle.
"I'm not a giant I'm tiny," replied Jessica. "But you're even smaller then I am. The fun you wanted." She then squatted down to her tiny friend.
"Am I microscopic?"
"Yes you're invisible to the naked eye."
"This is insane. I've never felt so excited. She then jumped up in excitement. "No one's ever been this small."
"In your reality you're right."
"I could stay like this forever."
"I'd advise against that."
Just then Sarah noticed something from the corner of her eye.

"What was that?" asked Sarah.
"What was what?" replied Jessica.
"I think I just saw something."
"It was probably nothing."
Just then Sarah saw what seemed to be a dust mite. She became scared and she ran towards her seemingly giant sized friend.
"What is that?" asked Sarah.
"That's a dust Mite," replied Jessica as she picked up her friend. "Don't worry he can't hurt you up here."
"I can't believe how big that thing is."
"Well it's not big its just that you're smaller then you should be."
"I know that."
"Do you want me to make you big again?"
"Yeah I don't feel safe at this size."
"You seemed so excited a minute ago."
"That was before I saw the dust mite."
"Ok but it'll take me some time to get you back up to normal."
Jessica then activated her belt and she began to grow. Sarah also grew in Jessica's hand but in proportion she was still tiny compared to Jessica. But when she was full sized Sarah was still the size of a doll.
"What now?" asked Sarah.
"This is where it gets a little complex," replied Jessica. She then put her friend on the ground and then she shrank until in proportion she was a few inches shorter then her friend. "Now we do it again."
Jessica then activated her belt and both girls began to grow. It took a few seconds for them to reach their full sizes. Sarah was a little relieved to be back up to her normal size.
"Wow I've felt so big," said Sarah.
"Compared to what you were must do," replied Jessica. She then looked at the clock. "Looks like its time for me to work again."
"Do you want a lift down there?"
"Yeah sure."
Jessica then shrank herself once more until she was a few inches tall. Sarah then picked up Jessica and put her in her pocket. She then began to walk down to the lab.
When she got there it was empty but it seemed to be locked. Sarah tried but she couldn't open it.
"It's locked," said Sarah.
Jessica then popped her head out of Sarah's pocket and she could see a gap underneath the door.
"Can you put me on the ground please?" asked Jessica.
"Sure."
She then put her tiny friend on the ground and Jessica shrank herself even smaller. Eventually Sarah had difficulties seeing her. She then ran under the door and she grew herself back up to normal when she got to the other side. Sarah quickly saw her through the glass.
"You're in," said Sarah.
"Thanks for the help," replied Jessica. "I'll see you in the morning." She then waved goodbye.
"See you tomorrow."
As Sarah walked away Jessica turned her attention to creating the trans-dimension machine. All the parts had been hidden but she easily found them.

When all the parts were found Jessica got back to work. She couldn't stop thinking about what she would do when she got back to her home dimension. But then she thought about Sarah and a few of the others she had met. She would miss them all. But she could visit them when she wanted to.
But as she was working away she shrank herself to doll size so that she could work on some of the insides of the device. She didn't really notice the time go by. But she accidentally knocked her belt and it caused her to become ten percent of her current height. This was a little under an inch.
"Stupid thing," she said. She then pushed a button and she began to grow back up to the size she had just been.
Her belt was far from perfect. There were still a few bugs in it. Sometimes it would make her shrink too small. Or it could make her normal size when she didn't want to be. She had worked most of the bugs out of it. But it still had a few problems under some circumstances.
Jessica was making a lot of progress in her work. But then she noticed the sunrise outside. This meant that she didn't have long until it was time for her to finish.
When Sarah did come Jessica only had to put the finishing touches on it. But she didn't have time to do it today. She just went to the door and shrank herself so that she could go under it. She then grew up to a few inches when she got to Sarah. She waved her hands at her.
"Sarah down here!" she shouted.
Sarah was able to see her tiny friend and she picked her up and brought her up to her level.
"Good morning Jessica," said Sarah.
"More like good night," replied Jessica. She then gave out a huge yawn. "I'm totally pooped out."
"I'll get you back to your doll house."
"Thanks I feel like I could sleep forever."
Sarah then took Jessica back to her dorm room and she put her in the doll house. It seemed bigger then before so Jessica increased her size so it seemed to be normal to her. She went upstairs and she put on some night clothes. She also noticed that the bedroom now had curtains. She would thank Sarah later for doing this.
When Jessica was ready she got into her bed and she went to sleep within a few minutes. But Sarah was in one of her classes. She was learning about physics and she was writing notes down. She didn't have much idea about it. It was times like this that she wished she had her tiny fake Canadian cousin with her.
"The one time when I need her she's sleeping," she said under her breath. She was unaware that she had been heard by the lecturer.
"Would you like to say something?" replied the Lecturer.
"No sir."
"Then be quiet. Everyone else wants to learn."
Sarah was annoyed by this but there was nothing much she could do. All she could do was wait for Jessica to wake up to give her a hand.
After all of the lessons were finished Sarah went back up to her room. There she saw Jessica on the table doing some exercises. She jumped when she first saw her come in.
"Sarah you scared me," said Jessica.
"Sorry," replied Sarah.
"So how was your day?"
"Terrible. I don't think I'll pass."
"Sure you will."

"No I won't I'm going to fail my course," said Sarah. "That'll be my education wasted."
"Don't say that," replied Jessica. "How about this. Tomorrow's lesson I'll go to the class with you."
"How would you do that?"
"I'll shrink myself and go into your ear. That way I can hear everything that's happening. I can also tell you information and no one else would hear me. It would be great."
"You'd do that?"
"Sure."
"But you're normally asleep while I'm in class."
"Then I won't work tonight."
"But what about going home?"
"My Earth has been there for over four billion and half billion years. I'm sure one more day won't hurt."
"Thanks Jessica." Sarah then picked her up and gave her a hug. "You don't know hoe much that means to me."
"Careful I'm fragile."
"What?" She then saw that she was accidentally crushing her little friend and she instantly put her down. "Sorry."
"That's alright." She then paused for a moment. "That reminds me I'm going to be taking your advice."
"About what?"
"About changing my belt. Shrinking all the time is fun but I'd like to see what it's like to be a giant. I've been around few people who have been smaller then me. But I'd like to be a true giant knowing that I'm big and everything around me is normal size."
"Will that be easy?"
"No it won't. There are a lot of calculations to do. Like for example if I were to grow past a certain size I would be crushed by my own body weight. I have to make sure that doesn't happen."
"In what way?"
"That I can be any size and support myself. Scientifically I shouldn't be able to shrink to the sizes I can. But I was able to get around that with a few calculations. Now I could shrink forever if I wanted to. But when I get to the atoms I would suffocate since I would be too small to breathe the oxygen atoms."
"I never knew that."
"Well you'll learn a lot of things in life. I could try and upgrade the belt in my free time. Heck one day you might see me as tall as a skyscraper. Then I'd have to change my name."
"Don't get too ahead of yourself."
"Yeah you're right. Ok since I'm up I might as well give you quick hand with your work."
"Thanks."
The pair then went to work looking at Sarah's notes. There were a lot of notes that didn't make much sense. They both found it hard to understand. But they would get their heads around it eventually. But the time was getting on and Jessica felt her stomach. It was making loud noises.
"Guess I haven't eaten yet," said Jessica.
"Then let's go to a drive-thru," replied Sarah.

"Yeah sure," said Jessica.
"There's one about a mile from here," replied Sarah.
"Great."
Sarah then picked up her tiny friend and she went away to her car. She put Jessica in the passenger seat and she grew back up to her normal size. She then put the seatbelt on as they drove away.
"Next Stop KFC," said Sarah.
"What do they sell there?" replied Jessica.
"Come on you have to have a KFC in your universe."
"I don't think we do."
"Ok chicken is sold there."
"Oh right."
"I'll buy your meal for you. It's not too expensive."
"No thanks just give me a fry and I'll make it last."
"You've just given me an idea."
Sarah continued to drive along and she eventually reached the drive-thru. She ordered one regular fries and then they parked up. Jessica was a little confused at first.
"So what's your big plan?"
"We'll both shrink so that the fries last us," replied Sarah. "Its cheaper and we don't waste food."
"I normally do that."
"Will you do it then?"
"Sure."
Jessica then held onto Sarah's arm and she pushed the left button on her belt. This caused the pair to shrink. They shrank down to a few inches in height and the fires looked monstrous.
"What now?" asked Jessica?"
"Now we eat," replied Sarah.
She then pulled out one of the fries and began to eat it. Jessica did the same. The fries were bigger then they were. It was insane to think that this was being shared between them.
But then the pair began hear some commotion in the KFC. Jessica grew herself back up to normal. She looked out of the window and saw someone with a gun. He seemed to be robbing the place.
"Crap it’s being robbed," said Jessica.
"Quick make me normal so I can get us out of here," replied Sarah. "I'll be safest thing to do."
"But not the right." She then put her hand onto Sarah's shoulder and she pressed the right button. This made the pair grow back up to normal size. But then Jessica went out of the car. "I'll be back in a minute."
She then slowly and quietly went into the KFC. She could hear people squirming. She saw the would be robber pointing a gun at the cashier. She quietly went behind him and she hit him right between his shoulder and neck. This made him go down easily.
"Pressure point." She then looked around. "Is everyone alright?" Everyone nodded their heads. "Good now someone call the police."
Jessica then walked out towards the car. She got back into it and Sarah looked in amazement. She had seen what had happened.
"Where did you learn to do that?" asked Sarah.
"Batman taught me," replied Jessica.

"Wow the Batman?" asked Sarah.
"Who else?" replied Jessica.
"Cool you'll have to teach me a few moves. Can you do that?"
"Sure but you must sacrifice your lifestyle. Every waking second will be intense training. You won't ever have a social life again."
"What?"
She then giggled. "Just kidding we'll learn when its right for you."
"Fine."
"Now if you don't mind I think I could do with another fry."
The next morning Sarah was walking towards her class. She had all her books and everything. she was ready. But she had to check if her little friend was comfortable in her ear.
"Alright in there Jessica?" asked Sarah in a quiet voice so that no one else could hear her.
"I'm fine," replied Jessica. She had shrunk herself to a fraction of an inch tall and was now sitting in Sarah's ear. It was an experience for her. "I've got some news for you."
"What's that?"
"Well I was up all night trying to upgrade my belt so I could go super sized. I'm making very good progress. I think with the hard work and determination I can have it done within the next couple of days."
"Great and don't forget the weekend starts tomorrow."
"What happens then?"
"I go home and I could leave you in your dollhouse if you wanted to."
"It would be best for now. I can work on my belt and my trans-dimensional teleporter."
Sarah eventually sat down at her desk in the classroom. There were several other students there waiting for the lecture to start.
Then a middle aged man came to the centre of the classroom. He was obviously the professor of the class and he started to put pictures up. They were diagrams of scientific equations.
"Ok class as you can see by the following diagram," he said.
The lecture then went on. Sarah wasn't getting what he was saying. but Jessica was getting it easily and she started to break it down to her normal sized friend. To Jessica it was child's play.
"I didn't know this class was that easy," said Jessica.
"It's not easy," replied Sarah.
She didn't realise that everyone else in the class had heard her. The professor looked at her and she blushed.
"Is there something you'd like to share with the class Miss Anderson?" asked the Professor.
"No," replied Sarah.
"Then please be quiet the other students are trying to learn something here. Now let's continue."
The lecture soon finished and for Sarah it couldn't have finished any sooner. But she understood a lot of things while Jessica had been in her ear. It had helped her a lot. The only drawback was that everyone had thought she was talking to herself during the class.

The weekend soon came and Sarah left the University to visit her parents for the weekend. Jessica was still in her doll house and she had borrowed a few tools from one of the labs to upgrade her belt. She had shrunk them down so that she could use them in the doll house.
She seemed to be making a lot of progress. Since she didn't have any distractions she was flying through her work. Although she did miss the company of Sarah she did promise herself that she would go with her next weekend. She didn't want to make her friend feel that she didn't care about her.
Jessica spent the entire weekend working. She spent Saturday on her belt and she spent Sunday on the trans-dimensional device. She had completed her belt but she didn't want to test it yet.
Her Trans-dimensional device was almost complete. There were just a few things she had to tweak up before she could power it up. But it was her belt that she was most excited about. She was looking forward to becoming a giant for a change instead of always being the little one.
The weekend soon came to a close and Sarah came back. She saw Jessica in her doll house writing something on a tiny piece of paper. She knocked on the wall and then removed the roof.
"Hi Jessica," said Sarah.
"Hi Sarah how was your weekend?" replied Jessica.
"It was great. I had a wonderful time. And you?"
"I think I've cracked the secret of growing."
"You have?"
"Yes by using this formula." She then held up the piece of paper. "I can increase my size beyond my normal height I hope."
"Have you tested it yet?"
"No I was waiting for you to come."
"Oh that's nice I guess."
"Great now let me get changed into something I can test myself in."
A few minutes later Jessica stepped out of her doll house wearing a white T-Shirt which said the words "eat-me", a pair of blue jeans and a pair of black flip flops. She then increased her height up to normal.
"Now can you show me to anywhere with a high ceiling?" asked Jessica. She smiled a little.
"Sure," replied Sarah.
The pair then went down to a storage lot in the university. The ceiling was 30 feet high and Jessica felt that this was ideal. But there were a few things around the storage hold. Some one had left a microscope out and a few glass slides by it.
Jessica went to the middle of the lot. She was a little nervous with the fact that she was about to grow.
"Wish me luck," said Jessica.
"Good luck," replied Sarah.
Jessica then pushed the right button and she closed her eyes. At first nothing seemed to happen. But then she watched the world slowly shrink around her. She was pushing past 6 feet and still growing.
"I'm growing!" she shouted.
She carried on growing and she was jumping with excitement. She was growing past 12 feet until disaster struck. The first sign was that there was a loud hissing noise.
"That can't be good," said Jessica.

Sarah wasn’t sure what was about to happen. She could see the 12 foot tall Jessica’s body shaking. She wasn’t sure what to do. But then the shaking stopped and she seemed to be relieved. But then she saw Jessica shrinking. It was slow at first but it was getting faster. In seconds she was down to her normal height. But she was getting smaller. Sarah went towards her.
“Ok Jessica that’s small enough,” said Sarah.
“It’s not me I can’t stop myself,” replied Jessica. She tried to press the right button to make herself larger. But it wasn’t working. “I can’t stop.”
“Take off the belt.”
“This is different. It’s not the belt that’s causing me to shrink. It’s me.”
Although Jessica was shrinking the belt was shrinking along with her. She was starting to panic when she went under 2 feet tall. Sarah picked her up and put her on the table. But Jessica was still shrinking fast.
“Is there anything I can do?” asked Sarah.
“There’s nothing you can do,” replied Jessica.
In a few seconds Jessica had lost an additional three quarters of her height and she was down to six inches and still shrinking. She was trying to stay as calm as she could. But this was a scary situation for her.
When she was down to an inch she knew that she wouldn’t stop. She looked up at her seemingly gigantic friend.
“I’m going to be microscopic in a second,” said Jessica. She had to shout just so that her friend could hear her. “Put me on a slide and put me under the microscope.”
By then she was down to half an inch and she couldn’t be heard by normal ears. But Sarah was able to hear the last comment and she put Jessica onto a glass slide and as she shrank smaller she put her under the microscope.
At first she didn’t have to put it on a high setting to see her micro friend. But Jessica was beginning to see little sludgy things on the ground. It didn’t take long for her to realise what they were.
“Crap those are microbes,” said Jessica in shock. “If I don’t do something they’ll kill me when I get smaller.”
She then began to stomp on the microbes. But they seemed to be growing. But she knew that it wasn’t them growing. It was that she was shrinking. She was still panicky as she saw more and more of them.
Sarah was forced to increase the magnification to see her friend. She could see that Jessica was in trouble. She felt like using some disinfectant but that would also kill Jessica in the process.
“Come on Jessica,” said Sarah.
As the fight went on Jessica was having a lot more difficulty killing the germs. There were bits of germs on her flip flops. But in a matter of seconds she was equal to their size. This caused her to panic even more.
“Ok nice germs,” said Jessica in panic.
But as she tried to flee she shrank smaller. The germs went from being seemingly normal sized to giants. She was running for her life. She knew that if one got her she wouldn’t be able to break free.
But from Sarah’s point of view she could see all the germs trying to attack the shrinking Jessica. She was still running but shrinking at the same time. But then Sarah had it on maximum magnification and Jessica was still a speck. But just before a germ could reach her she shrank faster and completely out of sight from both Sarah and the germs.
“Oh my God she’s gone!” said Sarah with panic in her voice.

In a world invisible to even the most powerful microscope Jessica was still there. But she was shrinking. She knew that the end was going to be near for her. She knew that she would eventually suffocate.
But then something surprised her. She saw atoms below her and they were getting bigger. But she thought that she would have suffocated. The atoms were too big to fit into her mouth and she was still shrinking.
“I shouldn’t even be able to breathe,” thought Jessica. “I should be choking to death right now. But I’m not how is that even possible?”
As the atoms around her grew larger and larger she began to see white dots between them. She was curious so she went and took a closer look at them. They were seemingly getting bigger and she waited to see what they were.
As the atoms soon dwarfed the rapidly shrinking Jessica she went towards the white dots. But by now she was floating. He had shrunk so small that the laws of gravity didn’t apply to her anymore.
But as she saw went into the white dot she saw over white dots around it. There was soon blackness around her and she soon realised where she was.
“Oh my God this is a microscopic universe,” she said. “I can’t believe it I’ve discovered sub-atomic worlds. But is till don’t know how I’m breathing. But there does seem to be oxygen around here.”
As she shrank further she went closer to one of the galaxies that she had seen. She was hoping that she would stop shrinking soon. But everything around her was still growing at an alarming rate. She could do nothing but watch.
After half an hour of shrinking she was no bigger then a solar system. She could see planets around her. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. She reached out and touched one that seemed uninhabited.
But eventually she saw a planet that did seem to have life. She stayed close to it in hopes that she would shrink onto it.
As the planet soon dwarfed her she got pulled in by its gravitation pull. She landed on its surface and looked at the planet around her. She felt like a giant of unimaginable size and might.
In seconds she was in the cloud level and it was rushing past her. She guessed that to the inhabitants she was a few miles tall and she was still shrinking. She looked down and she thought she could see people.
“Hello down there,” said Jessica.
She couldn’t hear them so she waited until she got smaller so that she could contact with them. But then she felt sharp pains in her foot. She looked down and saw that they were jabbing her with what seemed to be spears.
“Hey stop that!”
She knew that she had to use her size to her advantage for now since she was rapidly losing it. She tried to move some of the people away from her. She could tell that they were barbarians.
But soon she seemed to be no bigger then 50 feet compared to them and she was still shrinking. She tried to contact them once more as she shrank. But when one was about to listen she was normal size compared to them. But she was still shrinking and this worried her greatly.
“I’m still shrinking,” she said.
As more barbarians came she was only half her size. She could see that they seemed like giants now. She watched them rapidly grow and when she was small enough one of them picked her up and watched her shrinking continue. She was the size of a doll in seconds, then model, then she was down to an inch, then to the size of a pin, then a pumpkin seed and then she was so small they couldn’t see her anymore.
The barbarians weren’t sure what to make of all this. They had just watched a giantess so large that their entire universe was a speck to her shrink so small that they couldn’t see her anymore.

Again in a world that was invisible under a microscope Jessica was there and still shrinking. She had shrunk straight past the bacteria and was moving onto the atoms again. Once more she could see the tiny white specks that were sub atomic universes. But Jessica was more panicky then ever. She now knew that she wouldn't stop shrinking.
"I'm just going to keep shrinking," she said. "I'm going to shrink from one sub atomic universe to the other forever. The process is going to keep repeating itself if I don't do anything."
Jessica then began to try and stop her shrinking with her belt. She pressed the right button again but nothing happened. So she had to resort to taking the front of the belt off and trying to sort out a few wirings. But without any tools there wasn't much she could do.
As Jessica was trying to use her belt to help her she was still shrinking. She wasn't paying much notice to anything around her. She had already shrank to the size of a sub atomic sub atomic galaxy and she was still shrinking.
Within half an hour she was close to solar system but then she felt something it her body. It caused her a lot of pain and she lost her concentration on her belt. She began to look around.
"What the hell was that?" she said. She then saw tiny rocks by her. It looked like it had just been broke up. At first she thought that she had collided with a planet and it had shattered. But she saw no lava from the planet's core. "Guess I hit a comet."
A few minutes later she was by a planet that looked similar to earth. There were land masses and oceans. But the shapes of the continents were a lot different to that of Earth.
While she shrank she seemed to be able to do something with her belt. She landed on the planet's surface and at first the clouds were up to her hips and her knees down were below the ocean.
Jessica shrank faster and she knew that she had to get to land before she got too small and drown in the water. But while she did this she was putting a few wires together in her belt.
But she didn't realise that she was causing some tidal waves while she walked. She also didn't realise that a city was in her path. The waves were hitting the city with full force.
By the time Jessica had reached shallower waters she was barely above 100 feet. But then Jessica completed her task and the belt sounded like it powered up. No sooner had she done this she stopped shrinking. She gave out a huge sigh of relief and she laughed a little.
"I did it," said Jessica. "Guess a super genius I.Q can come in handy. But here I'm a giant." But over the horizon she could see a city. She was happy to see it. "Civilization and they looked advanced."
Jessica then quickly went towards the city. But when she got close to it she felt something hit her. She stood up and tried to go towards the city. But there seemed to be an invisible wall.
"What's this?" She then knocked it and she could definitely tell that there was an invisible barrier. But she looked towards the city and saw that there was quite a lot of water in the streets. It didn't take her too long to realise what the cause was. "My walk earlier must have caused tidal waves. Oh my God I created a disaster." She instantly felt bad for what she had done.
But then Jessica began to hear something. It sounded like a vehicle.

Jessica looked around to see if she could see the vehicle. But then she felt a sharp pain on her left cheek. She turned around and saw what seemed to be a space age hover vehicle. Jessica had only seen these kind of vehicles in science fiction movies. She guessed that this world had technology more advanced to what she was used to.
She went to move towards it. But her body felt extremely heavy and she was becoming light headed. She recognised this feeling because she was being knocked out. Whatever had been shot at her seemed to be working. Within seconds she was down in the water knocked out. But if she was left there for more then three minutes she would drown. Her size didn’t make this last any longer.
When Jessica woke up she had a headache. Her vision was still a little blurry but it was coming to. She tried to move her arms but she couldn’t. She even tried to sit up but she couldn’t do that either. She could also hear voices around her. But she couldn’t see anything yet.
“W-where am I?” asked Jessica.
When her vision returned she could see that she had been chained to the ground. She could see tiny humanoid creatures around her. They had a look that was similar to that of humans. But their skins were blue. But like the human race there were a few that had different colour skin to others.
“She’s waking up,” said a voice.
Just then she realised that she was in trouble. Again she tried to break out of her chains but they were too strong for her. She seemed to admit defeat and then she saw one of the civilians walk up to her. But he seemed to be wearing a sash. She was guessing that he was the guy in power here.
“Good you’re awake,” he said.
“You speak English?” replied Jessica.
“What is English?”
“It’s the language that I speak. It’s what you’re speaking.”
“I speak Pilonese but it looks like our languages are the same. Good I don’t need to get a translator.”
“Where am I?”
“You’re on the outskirts of Baldwin City that you have damaged by causing those huge tidal waves.”
“Look I’m sorry about that. I didn’t realise that a walk out that size would cause so much damage.”
“Sorry isn’t going to fix the mess. You will be put on trial tomorrow morning for this crime. But there is something I’m curious about.”
“What’s that?”
“We tried to remove that belt of yours but we’ve failed. We used everything we could but it still won’t come off.”
“I’m not taking this thing off. It’s the only thing that’s keeping me at this size.” She became a little defensive.”
“So taking off that belt would shrink you to a more manageable size?”
“Yes for a few seconds. But then I’d shrink subatomic to you.” She then gave out a sigh. “Look the world I come from is infinitely bigger then yours. I had an accident and it made me shrink infinitely. I shrank in and out of a subatomic world and into this one. I just want to grow back to my normal size.”
“Oh I’m afraid you’ll be staying here for a while.”
“Great and what’s with the chains?”
“Well they’re a little something to make sure you don’t either escape or try to finish the job on Baldwin City.”

The next day was Jessica’s trial. She was still chained to the ground and she couldn’t move her arms so she couldn’t shrink from them. Since she was too big to fit into the courthouse the courthouse was moved out to her. Thankfully it was a sunny day so they didn’t have to worry about rain.
Jessica had an attorney appointed to her. But he seemed to want her to throw the case and admit that she is guilty. But she didn’t want to do this. Eventually she got rid of her attorney and decided to represent herself.
“The court is now in session,” said the Judge. “This is the trial of a Miss Jessica Palmer the giantess who ahs caused damage to our wonderful city. The prosecution can make their first statement.”
“Thank you your honour,” replied the Prosecutor. “I would like to state that Miss Palmer intentionally caused great damage to the city with her waves. Thankfully the city’s natural disaster defences came online when they did. If more waves had hit us then we wouldn’t have a city to live in.”
“Thank you and now may the defendant rise and give her opening statement?” He waited for a moment.
Jessica then tried to move out of her chains but she couldn’t get herself out. She was stuck there unless someone got rid of them for her.
“I’m sorry your honour but I can’t stand up unless someone removes these chains,” said Jessica. “And I think its cutting the blood circulation in my body.”
“Very well remove her chains immediately. But if you try to do anything we’ll shoot you. Our weapons might be small compared to you. But they can still be more the lethal to you my friend.”
“Don’t worry I won’t attempt to escape.”
Just then a lot of people went to the chains and began to release them from the ground. Jessica then removed the chains easily and she stood up to her full height. People marvelled over how tall she was. None of them had seen her standing up. The only time when they had seen anything like this is when she was in the water that took her height down by almost 50%.
“Thank you your honour,” said Jessica. “I did not intentionally damage your city. I admit I was careless at the time but I did not want to harm anyone. I would like to make it up to everyone if I can.”
“Thank you Miss Palmer you may sit down now,” replied the Judge.
Jessica then sat down on the ground. She crossed her legs while she sat down. She looked around her and a few people were a little scared of her. She didn’t really blame them after everything that had happened.
The prosecutors then called Jessica to the stand as their witness of events. But since it was easier for everyone Jessica stayed where she was and the prosecutor went over to her to ask her questions.
“Please Miss Palmer explain to the courts about your belt,” said the Prosecutor. “I think they really want to know.”
“Well my belt is what causes me to change size,” said Jessica. “Originally it could make me shrink and then grow me back up to my normal size.”
“So this belt can actually make you shrink?”
“Not anymore I altered it. Unfortunately after my accident I’m shrinking infinitely. I was able to use my belt to create a field around me that causes me to grow. But right now the strength of the growth field cancels out my shrinking problem. But I need to increase the growth field so its more powerful then the shrinking and thus I will grow back to my normal size.”
“Then why not do this?”
“I can’t without the right tools.”

"And what are these tools?" asked the Lawyer.
"A simple screwdriver, a couple of 12mm power couplers and fusion trimmer," replied Jessica.
"And what will you do when you get these tools?"
"I'll boost the power of the growth field and grow back to my normal size. You guys have those tools don't you?"
"Maybe we do. But I doubt we'll give them to you after causing all that damage. But tell us what exactly happened?"
"Well I was trying to make my belt grow me beyond my normal size. I more or less doubled my height but then something went wrong and I shrank. I expected to go down to normal but I didn't stop. I kept shrinking until I entered a subatomic universe. Again I expected to stop when I was normal sized compared to the universe. But I didn't stop and I shrank out of that one. I shrank into this universe and if it wasn't for my belt I'd still be shrinking."
"So your quest to make yourself taller has backfired."
"In a sense yes."
"And because of that annoyance you decided to damage our city."
"What? No I didn't do it intentionally. It was an accident." She then looked over to the Judge and Jury. "Is there anyway I can say that I did it by accident and I want to make it up to you."
"Hmm," replied the Judge. "In most cases with minor crimes we make the convicted felon repair the damage. But we've never had one at this scale before. I doubt we can use it."
"Wait." She then stood up. "Look at me compared to you I must be a good 120 feet tall. That's got to be something right?"
"We'll let the jury decide. But for the record you admit that you caused the damage?"
"Yes."
"But you admit that it was by accident."
"Yes."
"Then let the jury decide your fate."
The jury went away and the court was closed. Jessica decided to have a little walk around to stretch her legs. But she had guards constantly following her in case she tried to escape. But she didn't attempt to. She just stretched her body as much as she could.
After a few hours everyone was called back into the court to hear the Jury's decision. Jessica was very nervous and she hoped that things would go her way in the case.
"Has the Jury reached a decision," asked the Judge.
"We have your honour," replied a Juror. "We find the defendant Miss Jessica Rose Palmer guilty as charged." Jessica didn't find this surprising since she admitted to doing the damage. "However the Jury strongly recommend that she serve the management punishment."
"Very well. Please Raise Miss Palmer." Jessica quickly stood up to her full height. "I hereby sentence you to repairing the damage you caused. You will be given the tools for the job and a small amount of help. But other then that you're on your own."
"Ok that's fair," replied Jessica.
"Court closed," replied the Judge. He then banged his gavel on the side and everyone began to leave.

The next day Jessica was having to start cleaning up the damage she had done to the city. But she did know a thing or two about buildings. Her uncle had been a professional builder and he would sometimes show her around the building site. This had fascinated her a little. Her intelligence also meant that she knew how to repair buildings and given her size it would make the job a little easier for her. But there's something she wanted to do first.
In a industrial park she stepped on a giant scale. This was mainly used for measuring the weight of cargo and other heavy items. But it seemed to be perfect. The city let her see how much she weighed because they didn't seem to see any harm in it. But the results surprised her a little.
"Ok taking away the weight of my clothes and belt I'm 616 tons and 190 pounds," she said to herself. "That should put me at 123 feet and 2 inches tall."
She then quickly went to a building. It had a large crack through it and the top was damaged. A few of the bricks were loose. She thought that this was a good place to work. But with her she had an expert that made sure that she was doing a good job.
Jessica began to put the bricks back. For normal people it would have been impossible since these bricks weighed 3 tons a piece. But to her it was nothing. She was just getting on with her work.
"You're doing a very good job," said the Expert.
"Thanks," replied Jessica. "I'm sorry about the damage but as you can see I'm putting it all right."
"That's because the courts have demanded you to."
"Maybe but I think it was fair."
But then she accidentally knocked a stack of bricks off the top of the building. They fell down and hit her big toe. She felt the pain and she cried out a little. She went to hop on one leg a little while holding onto her hurt foot. But she was able to stop herself from doing it.
"Oh this is just great," said Jessica.
"Are you alright?" replied the Expert.
"My big toe is bruised but I think I'll be fine. But I don't think flip flops aren't exactly the ideal footwear for this job. But unfortunately you guys don't have steel toe cap shoes in my size."
"We don't but when you're finished I think you should see someone about your foot." He then went to the bottom of the building and took a look for himself. He could see stab wounds as well. "Did the bricks do that?"
"No that was by barbarians when I shrank into their world. I was there for a few minutes until I shrank out of it."
"If you don't mind me asking. Our universe what is it on?"
"What do you mean?" She then squatted down and picked him up. She had never done this to anyone before.
"I mean a subatomic world is on this brick." he held up a brick. "What is our universe on?"
"Do you really want to know?"
"Yes."
"Ok you're on a man's hand."
"We're not on a rock?"
"No he picked me up while I shrank. You won't believe what a hand looks like when you're up close to it. It can look like a mountain range. It's quite amazing actually."
"I hate to stop the conversation but you still need to ix this building along with a hundred others."
"Ok."
She then placed him back on the top of the building and she got back to work.

After finishing her shift of building Jessica took the advice and she went to see someone about her feet. They were still a little sore and they began to go a little red. She was a little worried about them.
She was given the address and she took the short walk. She was careful with where she was stepping. She didn’t want to accidentally crush anything. She was in enough trouble as it was and she didn’t plan on getting into anymore.
About an hour later Jessica was being seen to by a doctor. He was inspecting her feet and she waited there to hear what he was going to say. He was taking things down on a clipboard. He shook his head from time to time.
“Is it serious?” asked Jessica.
“You have several stab wounds on your feet,” replied the Doctor. “How exactly did you get these wounds?”
“I was attack by barbarians while I was shrinking.”
“But why did they target your feet?”
“At the time it was the only part of me that they could reach.”
“Interesting and it looks like something heavy has fallen onto your big toe of your left foot. Tell me how that happened?”
“I was fixing a building that I accidentally damaged and some bricks fell off and hit my foot. I can still feel the pain a little.”
“Do you have any other footwear besides these flip flops?”
“No all I have here are the clothes I’m wearing. My wardrobe is back in my world. Or should I say worlds.”
“Well for now I advise you to wear something on your toes so that if anymore bricks fall at least your protected.”
“What can I use?”
“Anything you can find really? I’m sure that there’s some scrap metal that you can use. There’s a dump full of them.”
“I thought you guys would have recycled everything.”
“We do. But with scrap metal. People use them sometimes so we leave them in a designated area for people to take what they want.”
“Do you think that they’ll be any big enough for me?”
“There should do. But also I just need to put some plasters over your stab wounds. They’re very vulnerable to diseases.”
“Ok.”
The Doctor then began to get several plasters on Jessica’s feet. He had to use several to cover all the wounds. When it was all done her feet did feel a little weird but she was still able to walk.
After leaving Jessica searched for the scrap metal. But at first she couldn’t find them. But thankfully she saw a law enforcer on a street corner. She went over to him and picked him up.
“What are you doing?” asked the Officer.
“Don’t worry I’m not going to hurt you,” replied Jessica. “I just want to know where all the scrap metal is kept.”
“That’s it?”
“Yeah.”
“Well you see that tall building over there?” She then looked over and saw the building. She looked back at him.
“Yeah.”
“Well it’s right next to that.”

The walk to the scrap yard would be long for a normal inhabitant. But for Jessica it only took a few short steps. She was still being careful where she was putting her foot. The last thing she wanted was to be in even more trouble then she already was. She began to look at the metal in this yard. There were some that were bent out of shape. But here she had the strength to put them back right.
“Let’s see if there’s anything strong enough,” thought Jessica. She then picked up a few of the scrap metal. She compared them over her toes but they were mainly too small for her. She made a pile of ones that she tired and hadn’t tried yet. “There’s got to be something here I can use.”
But then she found two pieces of metal that seemed to be ideal. She compared them along her toes and they were the perfect fit. If anything she thought that they had been made for her.
“These are perfect,” she said. She then began fix them onto her flip flops. She used other small pieces of metal to keep them in place. She also tested to see if they came off easily fir when she wasn’t working. Thankfully they did. “I think I just solved my little problem.”
She smiled a little but she didn’t realise just how late it was. She looked out and she saw that it was pitch black. She gave out a large yawn.
“Well better get some shut eye,” said Jessica.
She then went out of the city and she went to the countryside that wasn’t too far away. She found an empty space and she lay down. It wasn’t the most comfortable place she had ever slept in but it would do.
But while she was trying to sleep she couldn’t help but think about her friends on both her Earth (Which she still doesn’t know is destroyed) and her new adoptive Earth where Sarah lived. She just gave out a sigh.
“I’ll be back soon,” she said to herself.
She then fell asleep and she lay there for hours. She was awoken at the crack of dawn and she was a little grumpy about this. But she just sat up. She saw what seemed to be a police jet hovering over her.
“Raise and shine sleepy head,” said one of the cops through a megaphone. “You’ve got plenty more work to do.”
“What time is it?” replied Jessica.
“5:30.”
”5:30?”
“Yep.”
“Any chance you can let me sleep for a little longer?”
“No the courts say you have to wake up at this time five days a week. Excluding the weekends.”
“I take it today is a weekday.”
“Yep.”
“Great.” She then sighed. “Can I at least get something to eat? I haven’t eaten for hours and hours?”
“Very well.”
Just then some giant size food came out of the jet and landed in Jessica’s hand. But she didn’t recognise it.
“What’s this?” asked Jessica.
“It’s a surprise,” replied the Cop.

Jessica took a good look at it. It looked like a rolled up pastry. She wasn’t sure what it was going to taste like. But since she was still starving she took a huge bite out of it. She expected it to be disgusting. But her mouth was greeted with many different tastes. She smiled a little.
“Tastes like chicken,” said Sarah. “No wait.” She waited a moment. “Now its like chocolate. Wait a minute. “Now its blueberry.”
“I’m glad you like it,” replied the Cop.
“What is it?”
“It’s artificial food. It tastes different from person to person. It tastes whatever they like. It’s amazing actually.”
“Does everyone eat this?”
“No some prefer to eat the genuine article. Personally I like to eat that. But sometimes it is nice to eat the real thing.”
“What’s it called?”
“Jellin.”
“Interesting.”
A little later Jessica put her steal toe caps on her flip flops and she went back to work. She expected to have a quiet day. But instead she was surrounded by the natives. Some she recognised from the trial. But others she had never seen before in her life. She had to keep watching where she was putting her feet. She didn’t want to cause any injuries or accidental deaths.
“I’d advise you to get some distance away from me,” said Jessica. “I’m trying to work and I might accidentally hurt you.”
The people began to back away a little but they still watched her and took pictures of her. But these pictures weren’t normal like they were on Earth. These had cubes with a tiny sized Jessica and part of the building. It showed her working on the building in a continuous loop.
Jessica looked at the top of the building where her advisor was. She was curious to know why all these people were here to see her. She thought they would be angry at her for damaging the city.
“Why are all these people here?” asked Jessica.
“You’re a celebrity,” replied he Advisor.
“What?”
“Word went around about you and now people are coming here to see you. Some are travelling from the other side of the planet.”
“I’m nothing special.”
“Yes you are. You’re from a universe that is infinitely bigger then our own. You’re a scientific marvel.”
“I wouldn’t call myself that.”
“But you are. But a few people are here because they’ve never seen a person of your size ever.”
“If anything I’m not big. I’m really tiny.”
But then Jessica noticed a balloon in front of her face. She grabbed the string as best as she could. She could hear a small child crying. She looked over and she saw her. She crouched down to her.
“Is this your balloon?” asked Jessica.
“Yes,” replied the Little girl.
“Then here you go.” Jessica then gave the girl her balloon back.

Everyone cheered at Jessica for this good deed. Although wasn’t much it still showed that her intentions were good. But then she noticed a man wearing what seemed to be a business suit walk through the crowd. She didn’t think much of it and so she went back to work since the buildings weren’t going to repair themselves.
But after a minute she felt something poking into her left foot. She looked down and saw the business man again. It was obvious that he was trying to get her attention so she squatted down to his level.
“Yes?” asked Jessica.
“Hello Miss Palmer,” replied the Man. “I am Lienad I’m a movie producer.” He then gave her a card. “Here’s my card.”
Jessica brought it closer to her eye but she couldn’t read it. She was too big and the lettering was way too small.
“I can’t read this,” said Jessica.
“Don’t worry I can blow it up to your proportions.”
“That’s not necessary I’m not interested in being in any movie.”
“Well that’s the beauty of it. For you I can’t make you a movie star. No offence but there’s only one type of role you can play and they don’t come very often. Instead I can make you famous.”
“I thought I already was.”
“I know but I mean a superstar. You can have action figures, comic books, talk shows, the sky’s the limit.”
“Thanks but no thanks.”
“What?”
“I’m not planning on staying here too long. I just want to serve my punishment, fix my belt and then I’m going back to the universe I shrank from.”
“Well keep the card anyway if you change your mind just give me a call.” Just then he heard his phone ring. “Later.”
“Err bye.”
Lienad then walked away and Jessica stood back up to her full height and she kept going with her work. She seemed to be doing good time in this since she had done a large part of the city already. She guessed that it would take her another week to be able to complete all the repairs.
But throughout the day people still wanted to take their picture with her. One person even gave her some flowers. She tried to keep them somewhere where they would be in view. But it would be difficult for them.
But a few minutes later Jessica felt the ground shake a little. She had just finished repairing the building and a few of the bricks she had just fixed on had fallen off. This annoyed her.
“Damn it,” she said to herself.
She then began to pick up the bricks that had fallen. But when she looked she saw that everyone was gone. She had no idea where they could have gone. There was no sign of them anywhere.
“Err hello. Is anyone there?” She waited a minute for an answer but she didn’t get one. “Ok this is weird.”
She then felt the ground shake again. A couple of more bricks fell off but they just hit her steel toe caps and this didn’t cause any harm.

Jessica kept looking around but she still couldn’t see anyone. She called out again but there was still no reply. It had seemed that the citizens had simple disappeared into thin air. She couldn’t believe what had happened.
“Where did everyone go?” she asked herself.
But then she felt something breathing down her neck. She was scared at first and when she turned around she saw a creature that had a striking resemblance to Godzilla. But they were seeing eye to eye.
“What the hell are you?”
The creature didn’t say anything. It went to slash her but she was able to roll out of the way. She was trying to keep the damage to the city at a minimum. She didn’t want to have to repair it again.
“Ok Godzilla,” said Jessica. “Now to tackle someone your own size.” She then gave it a mighty kick to the jaw. “I always wanted to say that.”
But this didn’t keep the beast down for very long. It was soon able to get back onto its feet. This surprised her a little but she soon gave it a quick smile.
“You’re tougher then I thought. Oh well.”
The pair then began to square off again. Jessica seemed to be getting the upper hand thanks to her training with her reality’s version of Batman. But then the lizard’s tail caught her by surprise and he sent her to the ground. She was slightly injured after this but she would be fine.
“Hey no fair.”
She gave it one more upper cut and it went flying to the ground. She expected it to come back but instead it turned around and began to walk away licking its wounds. She stood there and giggled.
“Yeah you better run.”
No sooner had the lizard gone Jessica saw all the citizens returning. They were coming back in beams of light. This caught her by surprise and within seconds everyone was back to their right places.
“Hey she beat it,” said a random person.
“It was nothing really,” replied Jessica.
“Three cheers for Jessica. “Hip hip.”
“Hurray!” shouted the others.
“Hip hip.”
“Hurray.”
Jessica didn’t really know what to say. She was being overcome by emotions. She shed a small tear and she looked at them.
“Thank you guys,” said Jessica.
“No thank you,” replied another Random person.
“I’m just one woman trying to make the universe a better place.”
“Thank you.”
Jessica did like the attention a little. But she had to get back to work on the buildings. They weren’t going to repair themselves any time soon. Everyone followed her to the building and they watched her work.
“You’re a hero,” shouted a random person.
“No I’m just doing my bit,” replied Jessica.
“Nonsense.”

Over the rest of the day Jessica did her work. But she was glad to see when it was quitting time. She gave out a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from her forehead. She didn’t realise just how much she was sweating until she wiped her forehead. She hadn’t had a bath or a shower since coming to this sub atomic world. She thought that she must have stunk like hell.
“Are there any lakes around here?” asked Jessica.
“Sure there’s one a mile or so away,” replied the building Expert.
“Good because I really need a bath.”
“I’m afraid you can’t leave the city unless you have supervision by the armed forces. I know you might not like it but it’s the only way.”
“I’m not angry at that. But as long as none of them perv on me I’m perfectly happy with it.” She smiled a little.
A few minutes later Jessica had reached the lake. But there was a jet above her and she took one quick glance up to it.
“This is it yes?” asked Jessica.
“Yes that’s it,” replied the pilot through a megaphone.
“Good now remember no peeking.”
The pilot began to look away and Jessica began to take her clothes off. She had to be careful not to take off the belt or else she would start shrinking again. But she seemed able to take off her clothes and she put her toe into the water. It was very cold and she quickly took it out.
“It’s freezing,” she thought. “But I guess its better then nothing.” She then put her whole body into the water and she lay down. She had to go in deep enough until her body was under water lying down. “Hey this isn’t too bad. And thankfully my belt is waterproof. Guess I can relax a little.”
Jessica gave out a sigh and she began to relax in the water. She could feel fish around her body and this made her feel more relaxed. But not too far away from her from a building underground a man was running down the corridor. He came to an office of another man. This man only had one eye and he seemed to be unhappy.
“Well?” asked the One eye man.
“Sir it failed,” replied the man.
“What?”
“It seems that the beast was fought away.”
“By what?”
The man then got out what seemed to be a computer and there were pictures of Jessica on it.
“By this?”
“What is it?”
“I’ve been told that it’s a being from a universe where our universe are between atoms. She is 150 feet tall and very powerful.”
“Hmm interesting. Maybe we can use this to our advantage.”
“How sir?”
“I think I have a plan.”
Jessica was oblivious to the incoming danger. For now she was just having a nice relaxing bath. Although she was being picked up by several cameras she seemed to be at peace.

A few minutes later Jessica had finished washing herself in the lake. She was ready to get out but she had one small problem. She didn’t have a towel large enough to dry her. But also that she didn’t have clean clothes. She couldn’t put her sweaty clothes back on since they would just make her smell. The obvious solution to this problem would be to shrink down and borrow some clothes. But since she still needed to repair the damaged buildings and she couldn’t grow back up to size.
The only thing Jessica could do was signal the helicopter. It soon came a little lower but it was still at a height that was unreachable for her even had her great size. She was just covering herself with her hands as she stood up.
“Hey guys can you get me something to wear until I clean my clothes please?” asked Jessica. She smiled at them.
“We’ll send someone to bring you something that’ll fit you,” replied the Pilot. “But under strict orders we can not get it ourselves. We are here to keep an eye on you.”
“But I’m no threat.”
“It’s not a question of that. Even though you saved the city the law is still the law and no one is above it.”
“Ok.”
Jessica then sat down and waited for another helicopter to come with some clothes. She didn’t have to wait long before one came. But all it did was drop a large piece of cloth towards her. She picked it up and looked at it.
“I guess its better then nothing,” she said. She then began to wrap the cloth around her body. This only took seconds and when she was finished she looked a lot like a Greek Goddess. But she took a quick look at herself in the water. “Great I look like the Statue of Liberty. At least I know what I’m wearing next Halloween.”
No sooner had she done this she began to clean her dirty sweaty clothes. She couldn’t believe that she had worn them for a good three days or more. She also couldn’t believe it had been that long since she came to this world. She wondered what her friend Sarah was doing now. She probably had gotten on with her life and was trying to forget her. But Jessica couldn’t think about that.
After Jessica had finished washing her clothes she needed find a place to let them dry since there were no dryers that could fit something that huge. She needed some more help from the helicopter pilot.
“Hey is there anywhere I can hang these to dry?” asked Jessica.
“I think there’s a place not too far from here that’ll be idea,” replied the Pilot. “We’ll escort you to it.”
“Thank you.”
The helicopter then began to move away. Jessica put her Flip Flops back on and she began to follow them. But she didn’t notice a tiny fly going towards her. To her the fly was so small that she couldn’t see it. But it wasn’t an ordinary fly. It seemed to be mechanical and it had a small camera on the top of its head. It flew directly to Jessica’s hair and clipped itself to one of her strands. She didn’t notice that this had happened and she just walked on.
She eventually reached what seemed to be two cliffs just south of the city. There was enough space for Jessica to put a line through it and hang her clothes to dry. The line had come from the helicopter itself. But the pegs to keep the clothes there were things that she had picked up from the ground. They seemed to be large graspers that were ideal for this job.

When Jessica returned the next day unfortunately she saw that her clothes were still wet and she couldn’t wear them. She just gave out a sigh and looked towards the city. She could see a couple of more damaged buildings.
“Guess my work continues,” said Jessica.
She then walked into the city and towards another building. The materials needed were already there so she began to get to work. But she did notice something strange. Quite a few people were whistling at her. At first she thought that they were just being nice to her. But then saw one walk directly between her legs and then whistle.
This was when Jessica realised that they were looking up her toga. Since she wasn’t wearing any panties they could see everything. She instinctively tried to cover it up as best as she could.
“You perverts,” she said under her breath.
“Having any problems?” replied a Voice.
She then looked to the top of the building and she saw her building Advisor. He was a little curious to what was happening.
“Oh hi,” said Jessica.
“What’s wrong?” replied her Advisor.
“Well people have been looking up my toga. And I’m not wearing any panties.”
“Why not?”
“They’re still drying.”
“Maybe we should make some sort of safety barrier so that people don’t come close. Does that sound alright to you?”
“Yes but there’s one thing I’m wondering.”
“What’s that?”
“Yesterday when that monster attacked where did everyone go?”
“Ah you see that’s one of the defences this city. Whenever there’s a disaster like that threatens lives the citizens are automatically teleported to a safe place. About a minute later the shields come up. That’s what happened when you first came here. Just before the first tidal wave hit everyone was teleported away. Then the shield came up so that no more tidal waves could hit the city.”
“Is it just this city that has that defence?”
“No every city on the planet has this defence. But others are more prone to different disasters. For example a city two thousand miles to the west of here is very prone to earthquakes so their defence system is a lot different to ours. They have their buildings fitted with technology that makes them resistant to earthquakes.”
“Oh I see. A little like San Francisco and Los Angeles.”
“What and what?”
“They’re two cities in my world.”
But then Jessica noticed a small bird land on her nose. She wanted it to get off. But a couple of its feathers had gone up her huge nostrils. It then flew away but then she began to feel her nose twitch a little.
Then without warning Jessica gave out an Earth shattering sneeze. It made her Advisor fall over. It blew him away but Jessica was able to catch him before he fell off one of the sides of the buildings. She brought him up to her level and she gave him an apologetic smile.
“Oops,” she said. “Sorry about that.”

“That’s alright accidents happen,” said The Advisor.
“Well as long as you’re alright,” replied Jessica.
But then she felt a sharp pain in her neck. It lasted for a few seconds and then it seemingly went away. She didn’t really think much of it and she just tried to go back to her work.
Unknown to Jessica the little bug had taken some of her blood and was now flying away back to its HQ. It was so tiny that she didn’t notice it whatsoever. But what the little machine failed to realise that the blood that it had taken from her was shrinking. Mere seconds later it was gone.
A little later that day Jessica went back to her clothes. Thankfully they seemed dry enough to wear so she quickly put them on. She was glad to be out of the toga but she decided to keep it just in case of anything.
She was happy since she only had one more building to repair. But there was a big problem with it. It was the tallest building in the entire city and it completely dwarfed her, even at her mighty stature. The building was damaged all over and she had to repair from the bottom up.
Eventually Jessica went to the building and she began to look at it. She had to look straight up to see the top. It gave her a neck strain so she stopped looking. It reminded her of when she shrank and had to look up at everything around her. But for once it was because it was really big.
“Well I better get started,” said Jessica. “This building isn’t going to fix itself.” She then sighed. “Too bad it doesn’t. But it is the last building to repair.”
She then began to repair the bottom and slowly began to work her way up. But when she had to go up higher she had to climb. It would have been nice for a crane to help her up. But unfortunately there weren’t any big enough to lift her. But she had to be careful about falling. If she fell she would either be seriously injured or even killed. But she tried to put it into the back of her mind and just get on with the work.
“You can do this Jessica,” she said to herself. “It’s just a little repair work on a tall building.” She then took one quick look down and she saw how high up she was. “Now I know how King Kong felt.”
She got on with the repair work. She could see people around the building watching as she did the repair work. She wanted them to move away just in case anything happened. She didn’t want to get in trouble again.
Meanwhile in the underground base the little robot had returned to its master. But he was livid to see that the blood sample was gone. He looked over to its creator and he wasn’t pleased.
“Your toy failed me,” he said.
“But sir it did take the sample,” replied the creator. “But somehow it’s disappeared from sight.”
“Is it invisible?”
“I doubt it. But maybe it shrank out of existence.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Remember that Miss Palmer is infinitely shrinking and only her belt keeps her from shrinking. When we took this sample it was taken from her body and the power of her belt so it kept on shrinking.”
“Where is it now?”
“Probably in some sub atomic universe.”

Back at the building site Jessica was still repairing the building. It was taking her a while to do it but she was getting up higher and higher. A large gust of wind almost threw her off. But she was still able to grab on.
“That was close,” she said.
She slowly but surely finished off the rest of the building. She slowly climbed down and she landed safely on the ground. This was her last building to repair and her punishment was over. She wiped her hands in glee.
“Done,” said Jessica. She then looked towards her advisor. “Guess you guys have to help me with my belt now?”
“Well it might be a little difficult,” replied Her Advisor.
“What do you mean?”
“Well you’re simple too big for our tools. We’ll have to make some that’ll be more suited for your size.”
“I can solve that problem.”
Jessica then took off her belt and to the astonishment of everyone around her she began to shrink once more. She watched the world and its people grow around her. She was losing most of her once mighty size.
When Jessica thought that she was at a good height she put her belt back on. But she was still seemingly a giant to the people since she had stopped shrinking at a little over 7 feet tall.
“Problem solved,” said Jessica.
“That was amazing,” replied her Advisor.
“It’s all down to technology.” She then felt her stomach. “But before I do anymore work you don’t mind if I get a bite to eat?”
“Go ahead.”
“Thank you.”
A few minutes later Jessica was in a nice restaurant. There were beautiful pictures everywhere inside and she admired their beauty. She had liked art quite a lot and she would go to galleries often. But she was a little uncomfortable in her chair since it was a little small for her. But she didn’t risk making herself any smaller.
But while she was daydreaming a waiter came up to her. He waited for a moment but she didn’t respond.
“Miss Palmer?” he asked.
This snapped her back into reality. “Yes?” she replied.
“What would you like?”
“Err let me see.” She then began to look through the menu. She saw things that she didn’t recognise. “Do you do pastas?”
“A what?”
“Never mind. How about fries?”
“No sorry.”
“I’ll just have that pastry thing I ate earlier. The one that has multiple tastes. I liked that one.”
“Of course.” He then cleared his throat. “If you wouldn’t mind.” He then got out a pen and paper. “You wouldn’t mind just giving me your autograph?”
“Sure. What’s your name?”
“Diadora.”

“Ok Diadora,” said Jessica. He then handed her the pen and paper and she gave him her autograph. “There you go.”
“Thank you very much,” replied Diadora.
“It was my pleasure.”
He then went away to process Jessica’s order. She expected him to a few minutes. But he came back thirty seconds later with the food that she had wanted. She was in some disbelief.
“Wow,” she said.
“I know I was a little slow that time,” replied Diadora. “I promise I’ll speed up for next time.”
“No I mean you were really fast. I’ve never been served at a restaurant and then receive my food so fast.”
“Well its all in the wrist.”
“You’re definitely getting a tip today.”
Jessica was more then happy to finish eating her meal and she paid in full. A couple of people had given her some money to get herself something to eat. But now she was more then full.
Over the next couple of days Jessica worked around the clock to fix her belt. She had been given the equipment she needed to fix it. But it was a little difficult for her to do this. Not that she was incapable of doing it but it was a little strange doing it while she was still wearing her belt. If she tried to take her belt off her infinite shrinking would continue.
But from time to time Jessica would have a little walk around the city. She was still towering over the inhabitants. A few people even wanted her to give them her autograph. She was more then happy to oblige.
But she was unaware that she was being watched. Not too far away there were some men wearing special goggles. They were watching her every step and they were waiting for the right time to strike. One even had an ear piece.
“Sir I have Jessica Palmer in vision,” said one of the men. “Permission to apprehend her?”
“Permission granted,” replied a voice. “But be careful. She might not be as big as she used to be but she must still have some of her strength left.”
“Understood sir.”
They waited until she got to a quiet area. Jessica was just minding her own business when she was grabbed from behind. She turned her head and saw that they were wearing hi-tech gear. She knew that they were trouble.
“Ok you’ve asked for this,” she said.
She then grabbed him and judo flipped him over her shoulder. She had learned that move from her world’s version of Batman. But before she could celebrate this little victory she felt someone jump onto her back and he put a cloth over her mouth. She struggled to get him off but she began to feel light headed.
Before Jessica knew it she was down on the ground and she was unconscious. The men slowly getting back to their feet.
“We got her,” said one of the men.
“Let’s get her out of here,” replied another man. “The boss hates waiting.”
They then struggled to pick Jessica up and they took her away.

When Jessica woke up she saw that she was in some king of small room. There was one window that was letting some air in. But she went to stand up and her head hit the ceiling. She didn’t expect this so it caused her some pain.
“Ok this isn’t good,” said Jessica.
She was feeling cramped in the room since it had a low ceiling. To fix this she took off her belt for a few seconds so that she could shrink down a little. This was only so that she could stand up in the room. But she had to be careful for now. She couldn’t yet grow again so every inch she lost made her that little bit weaker.
She then saw two people approach the door. She was hoping that they would open the door and she could make her escape. But she knew that wasn’t very likely. She couldn’t hear what they were saying since the glass on the door was sound proof.
She expected them to move away but then she felt herself get a shock. Jessica’s body was full of pain and she quickly fell to the ground. She was still conscious but she couldn’t move.
No sooner had she fallen the door opened and the two men entered. They put what seemed to be handcuffs on her and then tried to carry her away. But they struggled since she was still bigger then the average person.
“She’s a big one,” said one of the men.
“She was bigger a lot bigger,” replied the other man. “Now the boss wants to see her ASAP.”
The men struggled to move Jessica to where their boss was. He was still in his expensive office and he seemed to be happy to see her there. There was already a chair waiting for her. She was forced to sit on it and she had her feet cuffed so that she couldn’t try anything.
“Good morning Miss Palmer,” he said. “I hope you enjoy your accommodations. They seemed to be the best I had.”
“It was a little small,” replied Jessica.
“Well you’re no normal person are you. Now you’re probably wondering why I went through the trouble of bringing you here.”
“The thought had crossed my mind.”
“Well you see you are the key to size changing. I was on the verge of victory over this city but you killed my creature?”
Jessica then remembered the creature that had attacked her a few days ago. She soon realised that this person was very dangerous.
“That was you?” she asked.
“Yes a creature of mine,” replied the Man. “But it was so hard to control. Instead it’s a lot easier to make a person bigger instead.”
“You want me to grow someone?”
“Yes you’ve been the size of an entire universe.”
“But I’ve only ever grown to twice my height and that led to disaster. I haven’t even fixed my belt yet after that.”
“Then I can give you the tools you need to fix it. Make it better then what you did have. And then you can help me with my problem.”
“And what if I refuse to help you?”
“Well I could get my men to remove that belt of yours and I’ll have great pleasure in watching you shrink to nothingness. And from your own words without that belt you’d just keep shrinking and shrinking from one sub atomic universe to another never stopping not even for an instant. The choice is up to you?”

“Do I get time to think about it?” asked Jessica.
“Fine I’ll give you one hour,” replied the Leader. “Not a second more and not a second less is that clear?”
“Yes.”
“Good now take her back to her cell.”
She was then unchained and she was taken back to her cell. She didn’t try to escape or anything like that. She was just thinking of a way she could get out. But she was seeing very few options. She looked at the bottom of the cell door and she saw a small gap. She began to think.
“I can shrink myself and crawl under the door,” thought Jessica. “But what use will I be that small. I can’t make myself any bigger afterwards. Maybe I should do something that can truly help me.”
The hour soon past and she felt the same shocking feeling she felt earlier. She realised that they were taking her back to see their boss. She didn’t try to do anything to resist. They just opened the guards came in and cuffed her. Like last time they took her to see their leader and he sat there waiting to talk to her.
“Welcome back Miss Palmer,” said their leader. “Have you decided on your future?” A couple of the guards then took the safety off their guns.
“Since it’s either help you or die it looks like I have little choice,” replied Jessica. “I’ll help you out.”
“Good I knew you’d see it my way.”
“When do I start?”
“Immediately.”
Jessica was then taken into another room that had some hi-tech equipment. She was uncuffed but the door behind her was locked. It felt like she in a bigger cell. But when she looked around there were a lot of cameras.
“Guess I better get started,” she thought.
She saw some equipment on a table and she guessed this was to help her with her belt. But she was always suspicious of almost everything around her. She didn’t know if there was anything there that was going to cause her some harm.
In his office the Leader was watching her through the security cameras. He had a couple of his followers around him. They were all thinking about Jessica and not for the good reasons.
“Can we trust her sir?” asked one of the Leader’s Followers.
“Hell no,” replied the Leader. “I know what these heroes are like. They’ll pretend to work for the bad guy and then betray them the first opportunity they get. Keep an eye on her. The first sign of any kind of betrayal activate the failsafe.”
“As you command.”
“Good and be careful of what she knows. Keep everything on a need to know basis. Literally everything, even the weather.”
“Yes sir.”
“One last thing. Make sure she’s well fed. If we start depriving her of food it might send her closer to betrayal sooner.”
“Yes sir.”
Jessica just worked away. She was hoping that she could her belt working again and soon. This was the last place she wanted to be and she couldn’t stop thinking about getting herself out.

Hours went by and Jessica worked. She would sometimes glance up at the camera watching her. She hated helping out the megalomaniac but right now she didn’t have much of a choice.
But eventually she heard a knocking on the door. She went to look and saw the flap at the bottom of the door open and a tray of bread and water came in. It was obvious that someone had left it there for her to eat so she picked it up and began to eat and drink it. But there was hardly enough to satisfy her hunger.
“Keep it together Jessica,” she said to herself. “You’re almost home free.”
The next day the leader came down to see how Jessica was doing. He seemed to be happy that she had finished her work. Her belt was now fully operational again and he wanted to get his hands on it.
“Good work my dear,” he said. “Now hand it over.”
“How do I know you won’t use my belt for evil purposes?” replied Jessica.
“You don’t. But some chance is better then no chance.”
Jessica was thinking about what to do. She gave out a sigh and it looked like she was about to take her belt off. She knew what would happen if she did. She was thinking of her way to escape and make sure that the civilians of this planet were also saved. But this was a huge risk she was taking.
“I have a better idea,” said Jessica.
“And that is?” replied the Leader.
“You let me go and leave this people alone.”
He then began to laugh. But he could see that Jessica was there with her arms folded. She had a stern look on her face.
“Oh you’re serious,” said the Leader.
“Yes,” replied Jessica. She then pressed the right button on her belt and she began to grow. Everyone took a step back form her as the tall woman grew even taller. She laughed a little and she grew until her head hit the ceiling. This was a good 30 feet tall. She gave him an evil smile. “Deadly serious.”
“Congratulations are in order I believe.” He then began to clap his hands. The others around him reluctantly clapped. “I knew you’d try something like this. Not only have you repaired your belt but you could have potentially escaped. Thankfully I am a man with brains so I made a fail safe.” He then took a device out of his hand.
“What’s that?”
“Let’s just say you’re going to be the world’s smallest woman. And a numerous other worlds as well.” He then pressed the button and he expected to see Jessica shrink. But nothing happened. He looked at the device a little and he began to press the button again and again but there was still nothing. “What the hell?”
“Looking for this?” She then took out a tiny device from her pocket. “I must admit it was clever to put this onto my belt. I almost didn’t notice it. But when you’ve worn this belt long enough you can tell the slightest things.”
“But you’re forgetting one thing my dear even at that size you can’t survive a hail of weapon fire.”
“But you’re forgetting that this isn’t my maximum size.”
“SHOOT HER!”
But as they began to shoot Jessica pressed the right button again and she began to get even larger. The ceiling was beginning to crumble and a few people were already running to safety.

As Jessica went through the ceiling she came into another room full of guards and other machinery. They began to fire at her and they all hit. They were starting to hurt her and she brushed them away as she still grew. This seemed to do the trick and they stopped firing. But she could feel several wounds all across her body.
She eventually hit the next ceiling and she expected herself to instantly go through it. But when she pushed up to it the ceiling wouldn’t move. She tried with all her strength but still nothing was happening. Her body was still growing and eventually her head hit it as well. But even with all of her strength she still couldn’t move it.
“Hey what gives?” asked Jessica.
“At your size you’re trying to achieve the impossible,” replied a Voice. She looked down a little at the ceiling she had gone through and she could see the leader. She was still growing and she could see that she wasn’t going anywhere. She pressed the left button on her belt and she stopped growing at around 50 feet tall. “You still can’t escape from here.”
“What’s with the ceiling?”
“Didn’t you know? You’re a mile underground. You can push at that as much as you want but it isn’t going anywhere.”
The guards came back and this time they had bigger guns. She could tell that they would easily be fatal to her if they took a shot. She could see a smile appearing on the Leader’s face.
“Ok I see I can’t escape right now,” said Jessica.
“So you’ll come quietly?” replied The Leader. “Or will I have to get my men to keep you down.”
“First off I’d like to ask you something.”
“What?”
“Do you have elevators here?”
“Yes.”
“Well you should know I’m similar to an elevator. Not only can I go up.” She then pressed the left button on her belt and she began to shrink rapidly. “They can go down as well.”
“Stop her!”
Jessica then shrank rapidly. The guards tried to go downstairs to her. A few tried to jump down through the ceiling. But it was a high fall and they didn’t dare do it. The few that had gotten downstairs opened the locked door and went inside. But they couldn’t see the once colossal size Jessica. The Leader came in and one of the guards went over to where he was.
“Sir she isn’t here,” said the Guard.
“Oh really I couldn’t tell,” replied the Leader sarcastically.
“Where did she go?”
Out of sight of everyone a 6 inch tall Jessica was watching them. She was hiding behind some machinery and she was trying to see if she could get around them. With their weaponry a full frontal attack would be fatal on her behalf. They could probably shoot her before she got to a decent height.
Instead Jessica was making her way towards now open door. She kept her finger close to the left button in case she had to shrink herself again to stay out of sight. She had a little smile on her face.

Jessica continued to move around the room. She was keeping out of sight and she was use to stealth moves. She was one of the Justice League’s best stealth heroes. This was mainly thanks to her size changing powers.
But by now the guards were running out of places to look. The Leader was getting very impatient at this moment in time. He turned around and made his way to the door. He grunted a little.
“Gas the bitch out,” she said.
“Yes sir,” replied a guard.
The guards began to get gas grenades out of their pockets and they threw them to the ground. They exploded and chocking gas came from them. Jessica knew that she wouldn’t be able to withstand the gas for very long. But she could see that the guards were leaving. There was one close to her.
Jessica was forced to climb onto his shoe and then shrink herself even smaller so that they couldn’t see her.
The guard then walked out of the room and it was sealed up. The ceiling that had been broken through was now covered a thick cloth and the gas couldn’t escape. But Jessica was in the clear.
When she was out of the room she waited until it was safe to get off the shoe. When the coast was clear she grew to 3 inches.
“Remind me to never do that again,” she said. She then cleared her throat. “Now where do I do?”
Just then she saw one of the few female guards walk past. This gave her an idea. All the guards had their faces covered so they couldn’t see who they were. Jessica grew up to around 5 and a half feet. She hit the pressure point on the guard and this made her fall unconscious.
Jessica grabbed the woman and pulled her away. In a safe place she took off the guard’s clothes and put them on herself. But they were a little big for her so she had to grow a few inches so that she could fit.
“My own mother wouldn’t recognise me in this thing,” said Jessica.
She then began to walk down the corridors. Her heart pounded when she saw some guards walk past. But thankfully they didn’t recognise her and she gave a small sigh of relief.
“All employees report to the main hall immediately,” said an overhead voice. “This is not a drill.”
She then saw a few of the guards moving. She didn’t know where the main hall was but she figured that she could get there by following the others. The Main Hall itself was a lot further then she had thought. But she did get there and she saw a lot more guards there as well.
The leader was standing on a stage and he had a space age microphone in front of him. He seemed to be happy.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” he said. “We are standing on the edge of a new world order. My time has come to take my rightful place in this world. But do not fear all who have been loyal to me will be justly rewarded.”
Everyone began to cheer. But Jessica didn’t want to know what he meant. She just wanted to put him behind bars where he belonged. But she needed to use her intelligence rather then her vast size to do it.

All Jessica could do now was just stay with the other guards and take orders. She decided to wait until she was either outside or alone with this leader. But she doubt that she could do that since he always had some kind of protection around him. She just tried to play it cool for now.
You remember the drill,” said the Leader. “This is Blitzkrieg operation. First we take out the teleportation back up. Then we take the city through force and it’ll be ours before they even realise that they’ve been invaded. Can Harrison step forward?” At first this person didn’t step forward. “Harrison.”
Everyone began to look at Jessica. She thought she had been caught. But then she noticed the word Harrison on her left chest. She realised they weren’t looking at her because they knew that she was their enemy. It was because she was the person the Leader wanted to see.
Jessica quickly stepped forward and he put her hand on her shoulder. She felt like grabbing it and judo flipping him. But that would blow her cover so she had to keep it to herself.
“Harrison you have the most important job,” said the Leader. “You are to disable the teleportation depot so the civilians can’t escape. After that push this button.” He then passed her a small device with a red button on it. “This will send a signal to us and we’ll know that we can attack.”
“Yes sir,” replied Jessica in a lower voice.
“Are you alright Harrison you’re voice seems a little different.”
“Sorry sir throat infection.”
“You better get that looked at later. But for now you have your mission. Good luck sir. If you are not finished within six hours I will send help.”
“Thank you sir.”
“Good luck.”
Jessica then walked away into a corridor. The other guards began to leave. But right now she needed to find a way out. She didn’t expect the way to painted on the walls. But surprisingly enough they were. There were directions on how to get to the main exit and she simple followed them until she did get to the exit. She saw huge elevator that could take the weight of the Leader’s entire army. She began to looked at the size of it and she had a little idea in mind.
She eventually got back up to the surface and she saw that she was in a field. She could see some wildlife running away from her. But just over the horizon she could see the see the city.
“I have to warn them,” said Jessica. She then began to look at everything around her. But I need to remember where this place is.” She then noticed a large rock that wasn’t too far from the elevator. She decided that she could use this as her landmark to remember where this place was. “Now I must warn everyone.”
Jessica then began to run towards the city. But the suit she was wearing was slowing her down so she took it off so she just had her normal clothes on. But she kept the device with her. This would a big part of her plan.
But after a few minutes she didn’t seem to be getting much closer. She then looked at her belt and she hit herself in the head a little. She then pushed the right button and she grew until she was about 60 feet tall. She then continued the rest of her journey at this size.

Jessica’s journey didn’t take too long and she quickly made her way to the Mayor’s office. Everyone was pleasantly surprised to see her since she had been missing. She shrank herself down to fit into the building.
She actually went to the Mayor. He had a couple of guards with him but he didn’t feel threatened by her at all.
“Miss Palmer where have you been?” asked the Mayor. “No one’s heard from you in days.”
“Sorry but I was held captive,” replied Jessica.
“What where?”
“That’s not important right now. What is important is that there’s small army coming here to invade your city.”
The Mayor then looked towards one of his guards. “Get the lie detector.”
“I swear I am telling the truth.”
“A part of me knows that you probably be are. But I need to be absolutely certain before I make any decision.”
A guard then left the room. He came back a couple of minutes later with a small microphone with two lights. One was green and the other was red. He passed it to Jessica and the Mayor looked at her.
“Ok a little test,” said The Mayor. “Tell me something that’s simple and the truth.”
“Ok,” replied Jessica. “My name is Jessica Palmer.” The green light then came on. She could see how it works.
“Now tell me something that is a lie.”
“I play for the WNBA.” The red light then came on indicating that she had just told a lie.
“Now say your statement again.”
“There is a small army coming to this city to take it over.” The green light came on and everyone knew that she was telling the truth.
“Get the armed forces ready,” said the Mayor.
“If I may sir I have a plan that won’t endanger any lives.”
“Go on.”
“Well all I need is a few pet cages.”
A couple of minutes later in the underground base everyone was waiting for the signal. They then saw that the signal had been triggered and everyone got to the lifts and went up. Even the Leader went with them. He was extremely looking forward to getting his hands on the city.
Everyone went up the lift and they mobilized at the top. But then they felt the ground shake. A couple of them fell over and they could see that they were being lifted up into the air. The leader turned around and looked to see Jessica. But she was easily over a mile tall and she had the entire army in her hand. There were almost 100 of them. They seemed like ants to her.
“Shoot her,” said the Leader.
They then began to fire at her. But she was so large that she couldn’t hear them. She began to giggle a little.
“What too high for you?” she asked. “Let me make that a little better for you.”
She then pressed the left button on her belt and she began to shrink. But the army on her hand was shrinking with her.

As Jessica shrank some of the local inhabitants came out from the trees. She smiled at them as she shrank smaller. A few of them had the cages that she had asked for. She was almost finished with what she was doing.
She eventually stopped shrinking when she was 50 feet tall. But the army in her hand were extremely tiny. She put her hand near the ground and the local inhabitants began to pick the guards out and put them in the cages. Jessica eventually saw the Leader and she smiled at him.
“Looks like things didn’t quite work out the way you wanted them,” she said. She could just about see the Leader ranting at her but she couldn’t hear him. That was probably for the best.
The next day the entire city was in celebration. They knew that they had dodged a bullet with Jessica’s help. She was down to a more manageable size outside the city hall. That’s where everyone was. The Mayor had a gold medal with him and he turned towards Jessica.
“In gratitude of saving our beloved city we honour you with this medal of bravery,” said the Mayor.
“Thank you,” replied Jessica. She then lowered her head and the Mayor put the medal around her neck.
“No thank you Miss Palmer. And as an added thanks we can grant you one request and I will do everything in my power to make it happen.”
“I want to be mayor.”
“What?”
She then giggled. “Just kidding. But what I really want to do is go back home. But it’s too dangerous for me to grow here.”
“That can easily be arranged.”
Not too long later a small spaceship was at the City hall. All the citizens were there and Jessica was about to board. But she looked towards everyone.
“Thank you everyone,” she said. “I’ll never forget you.”
“Bye,” replied Everyone.
Jessica then got into the ship and then it blasted off. Everyone waved to her as she went up into space. She could see that they were getting further and further away from her. She was a little sad to see them go. But she really needed to get back.
When the spaceship reached a safe distance away from the planet she then left the spaceship. She was still amazed that here she could still breathe in this space. But then she saw the spaceship began to fly back down to the planet below.
“Well let’s see if this thing really works,” said Jessica.
She then pressed the right button and she could feel herself getting larger. Everything around her seemed to be shrinking smaller and smaller. She still waved goodbye to the planet although she doubted that the inhabitants could still see her.
Jessica grew a little faster then she expected. Within minutes she was bigger then the solar system and she couldn’t wait to see where she would end up. But then she felt something burn her ass.
“What the hell was that?” she asked. She then turned around and she saw the star of the solar system. “Hopefully that hasn’t done too much damage.”
But Jessica just kept growing and growing. She couldn’t stop thinking about the things she would do when she got back.

Jessica was amazed to see how quickly everything got smaller around her. She was starting to feel like a true giant but she knew that she was far from it. She just looked at the star that she had just burned herself on. IT now seemed to be the size of a golf ball and still seemingly shrinking.
A few minutes later Jessica could see every other stars. She had grown so large that she was growing the galaxy. She could see other galaxies not too far away. She was witnessing something that had never been seen by anyone. She didn’t know what to do. The slightest movement could lead to the annihilation of trillions of living things. She didn’t want that on her conscience.
A little later she began to see huge balls all around her. At first she couldn’t remember what they were. But when they got a little smaller she began to recognise them. They were the things she had based her superhero name on.
“Atoms,” she said. “I must be growing out of this universe,” said Jessica.
As she grew larger she had to pull herself up so that she wasn’t crushed by the atoms. But as she grew larger she began to see bacteria. But for now they seemed to be the size of entire continents. She had to hide herself a little until she grew big enough to defend herself. But one by one the bacteria began to notice her. She wasn’t sure what to do right now.
“Hey guys you wouldn’t mind just letting me pass,” said Jessica They began to get closer. “I didn’t think so.”
All Jessica could do for now was dodge the attacks of the bacteria. Thankfully her training with Batman was really paying off. But she did have one more ace up her sleeve (Although she didn’t have any sleeves). She was still growing. Eventually she would be too large for the bacteria to handle.
When she was the same size as them she began to fight back. But she was still growing so each punch was doing more damage then the previous. But soon she was big enough to be able to stomp them. But they still came.
“Note to self,” she said. “Single cell organisms have very small brains.”
Eventually she had grown so large that she couldn’t see the bacteria anymore. She seemed to be on a soft surface. She began to think a little and she soon realised what it was. She was still on the hand of the man.
Amazingly she saw him still looking at her hand. The other people were also there. She began to think a little. They couldn’t have been like that for the days that she was shrunk. She began to think a little more.
But the people gasped at the growing Jessica. She didn’t know what they would do to her. But as long as she still grew she thought she was relatively safe. But she heard the man talking to some of the other people. Unfortunately she couldn’t understand what he was saying.
As soon as she was big enough she was able to get off his hand. But another one tried to grab her. But as she grew larger she was beginning to feel safer and safer. Although for now she was in some danger.
“I’d advise you to leave me alone,” she said. But the people just ignored her and she gave out a sigh. “Oh well I gave you a chance.”
Like with the bacteria she was able to stay two steps ahead of the people. She grew larger and eventually she was the size of a young child and she still grew. Some of the people were still in disbelief over her.

One man grabbed her from behind and picked her up. He seemed to be happy with his accomplishment. But Jessica was still growing so she was getting heavier by the second. He was having to strain a little.
But eventually Jessica’s feet was able to touch the ground. She looked towards him as she was at eye level at him. Then she was having to look down at him a little. It was her time to smile.
“Well you guys were fun but I really have to go now,” said Jessica. “Best you people run away before I accidentally hurt you.”
By now Jessica was now seemingly a giant again. She couldn’t wait to get back. But she knew that it would take some time. Growing bigger then an entire universe was a timely activity.
The people began to attack her again. But as she grew bigger her fear of her also grew and they soon began to flee. She didn’t do anything to provoke them. She just looked down at them as she grew to the size of a mountain. She felt her head go up through several clouds. She looked up and she began to see the empty vacuums of space. She was about to hold her breath but she remembered that she could breathe in that atmosphere. It was still something that she didn’t think was possible.
“Just a few more trillion miles and I’ll be back,” said Jessica to herself.
She then felt her head go out of the planet’s atmosphere and into space. When she was large enough she jumped off the planet and she began to float in space. She was growing by the second and she tried to get away from the planet in case she caused any damage that she would later regret.
As she saw the planet seemingly shrink she gave out a sigh of relief. Under other circumstances she would have wanted to explore this tiny universe in further detail. But she just wanted to get back home.
But then she began to feel something hit her body. She looked around and she saw several asteroids coming towards her. She wanted to get out of the way but they all collided with her. But with her ever increasing size they were doing less and less damage. Eventually she couldn’t feel them anymore. She looked back to the planet that now seemed like a marble compared to her. She realised that there was a good chance those meteors would have hit the planet.
“What do you know,” she said. “I just saved an entire race from extinction.”
As time went on she grew bigger and bigger. But Sarah was still looking under the microscope for her friend. She was incredible worried about her and she feared that she was gone for good. But then she began to notice a speck and it seemed to be growing. As it got bigger Sarah recognised it.
“Jessica,” she said Sarah.
She waited until Jessica was big enough to step off the microscope. She put her on the ground and watched her grow. When she was about 3 feet tall Jessica hugged her.
“You’re back,” said Sarah.
“I’m so happy to see you again,” replied Jessica.
Eventually she got to normal height and she gave her friend a normal hug. But Sarah soon realised that she was being lifted off her feet. Jessica was too into the hug to notice that she was still growing. She had her eyes closed and she just held onto Sarah. She didn’t snap back into reality until her head hit the ceiling. She looked around her and she began to start crouching down.

“Jessica you’re still growing,” said Sarah.
“Oh yeah,” replied Jessica. She was having to crouch down a little. “I can soon solve that.” She then pressed the left button and she quickly stopped growing. She gave out a sigh of relief as she sat down. “Ironic isn’t it? I was the smallest girl in the world but now I’m the biggest.” She then hugged Sarah once more. “I’ve missed you.”
“Missed me?”
“Yeah I was gone for a few days. I was surprised that you were still looking through that microscope.”
“Jessica you were only gone for like thirty seconds.”
“What?”
It began to come together in Jessica’s head. The reason why the subatomic universes were so advanced was that time moved faster there. If a subatomic universe existed on something that would be destroyed quickly, if it had the same time speed the universe wouldn’t have time to develop properly.
“Hey Jessica you wouldn’t mind making yourself a little smaller for me?” asked Sarah. “I’m getting a bit of a neck strain.”
“Oh sorry,” replied Jessica.
She then put her friend on the ground and she pressed the left button. This made her shrink very fast. It lasted a minute before she got down to Sarah’s exact height. She then pressed the right button that stopped her shrinking.
“Now we can trade clothes,” said Jessica.
“It’s weird seeing you as tall as me,” replied Sarah. “And you can grow now. How big can you get?”
“As big as I want.”
“You don’t mind if I give it a try.” She then went to grab the belt.
“No.” She then stepped away from her friend. There was a brief moment of absolute silence.
“What was all that about?”
“Sorry but I can never remove the belt.”
“What its like fused to you or something?”
“No I’m suppose to be shrinking infinitely right now. This belt is the only thing that’s keeping me from shrinking. If I did take it off I would shrink from one universe to the other. It would never end.”
“Scary.”
“Now if you don’t mind lets get something to eat. And I want to get out of these clothes. I feel like I’ve worn them for days.”
Both of them then walked out of the warehouse. Sarah was happy to see that her friend was alright. Jessica told her everything that had happened to her over her time in the subatomic universe. She couldn’t believe that Jessica was actually large enough to destroy an entire solar system.
“So I wonder what we’re on,” said Jessica.
“What do you mean?” replied Sarah.
“Well I went into a world that was on a hand of a man. His world was on the glass slide. So I wonder what we’re on.”
“Why not find out.”
“Way too dangerous.”

“Why is it too dangerous?” asked Sarah.
“Well if I grew out of this universe it would be almost impossible for me to shrink back into it,” replied Jessica. “Getting onto the exact right spot is extremely difficult. If I’m just off by one millimetre I’ll completely miss this world.”
“Oh I didn’t think of that.”
“But for now I’m going to continue to try and get my portal operational so I can get home.”
“Maybe you shouldn’t try anything just yet. You’ve just come back from all this. You need time to relax girlfriend.”
“I might do.”
“Well it is Spring Break is next week and I was going to go to the beach with a few other friends. Did you want to tag along?”
“Err what’s Spring Break?”
“What you don’t know what Spring Break is?”
Jessica still looked at her friend a little. She had never heard of Spring Break and she was curious.
“No I haven’t,” said Jessica.
“Well let’s just say you get to party and you don’t have to worry about studying whatsoever.”
“Well I guess I could do with some R&R.”
“That’s great. I’ll just tell my friends that my Canadian cousin is coming along with us.” She giggled a little.
“Do I still need a Canadian accent?”
“If you want to keep it up go for it.”
The pair continued to talk to each other. But over the week Jessica continued to work on her portal. But she also helped Sarah with her studies and she was also able to meet some of Sarah’s friends. They seemed to be nice and they asked a lot about Canada. She just told them what she had read in books. Thankfully for her she was able to pull it off. She gave out a little sigh.
But when it came to time to leave Jessica was having difficulties deciding what to wear. She wanted to wear something that could show off her body but also hide her belt. If people saw her wearing it 24/7 they would get a little suspicious. She was in her dollhouse and she was trying to pick out something to wear.
Eventually Sarah came into the room. She took the roof off the dollhouse and saw her tiny friend inside.
“Are you alright?” asked Sarah.
“Just making the hardest decision in womankind,” replied Jessica. “What to wear? A decision that’s haunted women since the dawn of time.”
“Well this looks nice.” She then picked out a nice shirt.
“Too boring.”
“How about this one?” She picked out a pink shirt with some writing on it. “Wear this on the way. And then wear this.” She then picked out a bikini and skirt set. “And wear this when you get there.”
“But it’ll show my belt off.”
“Just say it’s a fashion accessory in Canada.”
“Yeah I can pull it off.”

A few minutes later Sarah, Aaron and another person was waiting in the car for Jessica to come out. They were a little impatient and Aaron looked towards Sarah. He was a little annoyed.
“How long will she be?” asked Aaron.
“You know not to rush a woman,” replied Sarah.
Then they saw Jessica come out of the building. She was carrying a bag and wearing the clothes that Sarah had picked out for her. She got into the seat behind the driver and she sighed a little.
“Sorry about that,” she said.
“That’s alright,” replied Sarah.
“Come on let’s go,” added Aaron.
“Patience is a virtue.” She then looked at everyone. “Has everyone got everything they wanted to take because I’m not coming back until after Spring Break.”
“Yes,” replied Everyone.
“Good now just a little bit of music.” She then flicked the radio and Crazy by Aerosmith was on. “Now let’s get out of here.”
Sarah then began to drive the car. She was sitting next to one of Sarah’s other friends. She was a fairly short girl with long red hair and blue eyes. She sat there in silence for a moment.
“Hi,” said Jessica. “I’m Jessica Sarah’s cousin.”
“The Canadian one?” replied the woman.
“Yep.”
“Where about in Canada.”
“Well…” She hadn’t thought about where in Canada she was from. She just had to pick the first one that came to mind. “Toronto.”
“I’ve always wanted to go there. It’s suppose to be a nice city.”
“Most beautiful city in the world in my mind.”
“Your name’s Jessica right?”
“Yeah that’s me.”
“I’m Kathy.”
“Nice name.”
The group were on the road for a few hours before pulling up at a diner. They were all hungry. Unfortunately for them this diner didn’t have a drive through so they would have to go inside to order.
Inside the diner it was modelled to be like the 1980’s. There was old film posters on the wall for Aliens, Predator, The Fly, Star Wars Episode VI, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and even one for Back to the Future.
There were other things in the diner that made it seem 80’s. The jukebox only had albums and tracks from the 80’s. In one corner they even had some old comic books from the 80’s.
“I’ll go and order,” said Sarah. “You guys find a seat.”
As Sarah went to the counter to order the others went to a table and sat down. Aaron picked up and old comic on the way. He sat down and began to read it. It was the fifth issue of the Watchmen.
“This is good,” he said.
“What’s the Watchmen?” replied Jessica.

“Probably the best comic series of all time,” said Aaron.
“Oh right,” replied Jessica.
But just before Sarah could order their food two masked men carrying guns came into the diner. They meant business as they went to the counter and put the guns towards the cashier. The young woman behind the counter was very scared.
“Give us your money now!” demanded one of the men.
Sarah slowly went back to her friends. She wasn’t sure what to do but Jessica quickly went over to her and she began to whisper into her ear.
“Get everyone out of here,” whispered Jessica. “I’ll deal with this.”
“Will you be alright,” replied Sarah.
“I’ve faced planet eating monsters and mass murdering mutants. Two common crooks should be no problem.”
“Ok.”
Sarah, Aaron and Kathy all made their way towards the exit. Jessica however made her way to the lady’s restroom. She went through the door loud enough for the thieves to notice. This had been intentional.
“Sounds like someone needs to go,” said one of the men.
“I’ll find out who the lucky lady is,” replied the other.
Just as the gunman walked towards the lady’s restroom Back In Black by AC/DC came on the jukebox. He seemed to like this song as he hummed it. He casually walked towards the lady’s restroom.
“Knock knock,” said the gunmen.
But as he opened the door he was confronted by an 8 and a half foot tall Jessica. He was immediately shocked and she was able to grab him by the neck and lift him up. He also dropped his gun.
“Who’s there?” asked Jessica.
She then threw him back out and he went landed on one of the tables. He was knocked out almost instantly.
The other gunman had noticed what had happened. He seemed instantly worried about his fallen friend. He hadn’t see Jessica yet so he didn’t know what to suspect. He walked towards the lady’s restroom like the other.
But when he opened the door there didn’t seem to be anyone there. He began to look around the restroom but he couldn’t find anyone there. There wasn’t even a window to escape from.
But when he turned around to leave Jessica was right in front of him. She was still 8 and a half feet tall. The gunman went to fire at her but she had already kicked him in the chest. He went flying by such a super kick. He landed quite hard on the ground but he was still conscious. Before he could do anything else she hit one of his pressure points and it knocked him out.
“Oh yeah I’m large and in charge,” said Jessica to herself.
She then shrank down to her normal size and she dragged the second gunman out of the restroom. When she got out she could see that the police were just arriving. Some of them were armed.
Jessica went outside and had her hands up as she all the police pointed their guns at her. But they could see that she was unarmed.
“They’re in there,” she said pointing towards the Diner.

Jessica began to walk down to steps as the police rushed into the diner. They quickly arrested the would be thieves. Jessica herself just walked back to the group and all but Sarah seemed to be worried.
“Jessica are you alright?” asked Aaron.
“Yeah I’m fine,” replied Jessica.
“I thought those guys were going to kill you. Or maybe just take your purse.”
“Believe me they couldn’t if they tried.” She then looked at the diner. “Guess we’ve got to go somewhere else to eat.”
“I’m sure we’ll go to a McDonalds somewhere along the way,” replied Sarah.
“A what?”
“McDonalds you’ve heard of it right?” She then winked at Jessica.
“Oh yeah.”
Jessica had just dodged another bullet. If Aaron and Kathy knew that she didn’t know what a McDonalds was they would get suspicious of her. But instead they just got into the car and drove away.
But when they were going down the highway Aaron got a CD out of his bag and asked to put it on. He was given permission so he put it into the player and looked back to everyone.
“Anyone wanna rein act Wayne’s World,” asked Aaron.
“Sorry never seen that,” replied Jessica.
“Just sing to the song.”
Just then Bohemian Rhapsody came on and they listened to it. But when it came to it Aaron began to sing along to it. Sarah and Kathy also began to sing along. Jessica didn’t know the words so she just sat there and watched them. They seemed to be having a lot of fun while they were going through it.
Eventually the guitar solo came on and everyone was dancing around to it. Jessica was still a little confused but she just sat back and watched. There wasn’t much that she could have done.
“Nothing really matters,” sang Aaron. “Nothing really matters to me.” He then paused for a moment. “Anywhere the wind blows.”
The song then stopped and everyone was happy with their little performance. Sarah laughed a little as well.
“This is what road trips are all about,” said Sarah.
“Going down a highway singing to old classics,” replied Aaron.
“Something like that.”
“Anyone want to sing to Sex Pistols?”
“No thank you.”
“Oh come on.”
“Queen is enough. No Sex Pistols.”
But as they came down the highway they got stuck in a traffic Jam. There were cars as far as the eye could see. Most people had gotten out of their cars and were just sitting around. The teens decided to do the same. It was way too warm to stay in the car all day while they wait for the road to clear up.
“Wonder what’s causing the Jam,” asked Kathy.
“Probably an accident,” replied Jessica.
“Oh well seems that we’re stuck.”

Everyone sat in the car for half an hour. But the sun was blazing down on them and everyone was getting very hot. They opened the windows but it wasn’t doing much for them.
“What’s the hold up?” asked Sarah. She then sighed. “Just when you want to go somewhere this happens.”
“I’m sure everything is being done to clear the road,” replied Aaron.
“But for now looks like we’re going to be here for a good long while.” She tried putting the AC on. But it was broken.
Jessica sat in the back and she tried to relax a little. She was very tempted to grow giant size and just pick up the car and walk out of this jam. But if she did that everyone would know about her and she really wanted to keep a low profile. She just sat back and relaxed a little.
But then Kathy saw an ice Cream truck not too far away from them. There were already a few people there waiting to get some ice cream. They had some money so Kathy got a little excited.
“Hey guys there’s an Ice Cream truck over there,” said Kathy.
“That’s just what we need,” replied Sarah.
All four of them then got out of the car and went to the ice cream truck. The queue was longer then they expected. But they were prepared to wait for some nice cold ice cream. They just stood in the queue and waited eagerly.
After several minutes of waiting it was eventually time for the group to be served. They looked at the menu and they began to decide. The man in the truck itself seemed to be out of breath a little.
“Hi,” said Sarah. “I’ll have a double chocolate fudge Ice cream with extra sprinkles if you don’t mind?”
“Anything else?” replied the Ice Cream man.
Sarah then turned to her friends. “Guys?”
“I’ll have the same please,” replied Aaron.
“I’ll take a strawberry,” added Kathy.
“I think I’ll just have vanilla,” added Jessica.
The Ice cream man then began to make the ice creams and he gave them to the group. Since they hadn’t eaten at the diner they had plenty of money left over to buy on ice cream. They gave the Ice Cream man the money and then they walked back to the Sarah’s car.
But when they got there they saw that someone was about to break in. He had a hammer out and he went to smash the window. But he saw the group and quickly ran away. They didn’t bother to try and chase him.
“Ok next time someone stays at the car at all times,” said Sarah.
Sarah, Aaron and Kathy quickly put their finger on their nose. Jessica didn’t realise what they were doing.
“What are you guys doing?” she asked.
“Well this is a little like reverse shotgun,” replied Sarah. “Since you’re the last to put your finger on your nose you’ve got to stay in the car.”
“Oh.”
“Don’t worry hopefully it won’t be too much longer. Besides with you here no one will dare try and break in.”

Thankfully for Jessica the rest of the group didn’t really move away from the car. There wasn’t much to do and they just sat down and tried to do things that would keep them occupied.
“I spy with my little eye something beginning with SW,” said Aaron.
“Steering wheel,” replied Kate.
“Damn it.”
“If you’re going to play this game at least pick something that’s going to be a little harder to get.”
“Why didn’t we take games?” replied Sarah.
“Well we thought that we would be too busy partying to need to bring any. Hell we didn’t even bring a book.”
But then Sarah noticed something in front of her. She didn’t believe it at first but it seemed that the cars in front were actually beginning to move. She almost couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
“Hey guys we’re moving,” said Sarah.
“What?” replied Kate.
“Look.”
Everyone looked and they saw the car in front of them move forward. The rest of the cars around them was doing the same. She quickly switched the engine back on and she slowly moved the car forwards.
As the minutes went by the cars were getting faster and faster. Eventually they were able to travel at a reasonable speed. Everyone seemed to be happy that they were out of the jam.
“Well that was one big waste of time,” said Jessica.
“Hey every cloud has a silver lining,” replied Sarah.
“So what’s our silver lining?”
“We got ice cream.”
“Hurray,” replied everyone else.
Eventually after several hours of driving it was the middle of the night. Sarah was just getting into the town where they would be staying for spring break. There were several college students there already but they hadn’t started to party yet. That was going to be for the next day.
They stopped at a small hotel with a pool and Sarah pulled into one of the spots and she stopped the cars.
“We’re here,” she said.
“Thank God for that,” replied Aaron.
“Can we get out now?” asked Jessica.
“Sure,” replied Sarah.
Everyone then got out of the car and took the bags to the reception. They were given a key that was at the very top of the steps. Unfortunately for them the elevator had broken and so they couldn’t use it.
They eventually went upstairs to the room. The room itself was very big and was intended for four people. There were two bunk beds and Aaron and Jessica quickly put their stuff on the top bunks.
“Beat you to it,” said Aaron.
“That’s a first,” replied Kate.

The next afternoon the four of them were on a beach with several other students enjoying their Spring Break. Jessica’s belt was now on show now that she was only wearing a bikini and skirt. A few people had asked her about it but she just told them that it was a Canadian fashion accessory.
On the stage a new upcoming rock group began to play and everyone listened to them. Jessica had never been to a concert like this before and she felt a little claustrophobic with everyone around her. But she didn’t lose sight of Sarah and the group. She didn’t know what she’d do if she lost them.
“Who are these guys?” asked Jessica.
“I think they were called the Rabid Dogs,” replied Sarah.
“Some name.”
“Well some of these groups call themselves silly names.”
But just then on the giant screen behind the group a man wearing a blue mask came into view. At first no one seemed to notice. But then a few people began to notice and within a few seconds everyone noticed.
“Greetings,” said the man. His voice had been purposely distorted to hide his real voice. The Rabid Dogs stopped playing and everyone looked at the screen. “I am currently airing on every single TV or screen in the country. I’m sorry to have to interrupt this beautiful day but I have a demand or two I need to get off my chest. First I demand that the country pay me one trillion dollars.”
Everyone laughed and thought it was some kind of Spring Break joke. The only person on the beach who was taking him seriously was Jessica. But even she had to admit that this person was being a little stupid. She didn’t really expect anyone to take him that seriously.
“Just to show you that I’m serious behind me I have several nuclear missiles,” said the Man. He then stood to one side and everyone saw nuclear missiles made by the Russians during the Cold War. “These are real nuclear missiles believe me. Give into my demands and everyone lives. But defy me and these babies will be hitting every major city in the states. And I have a few left over for other targets. You have three days to tell me your answer. If you fail to notify me or refuse my demands I will launch my missiles every hour on the hour. The choice is you’re my friends. Have a nice day.”
The man then disappeared from the screen and everyone talked to themselves. Sarah was a little unsure what to say. She quickly turned to Jessica. By then the others had arrived.
“That guy looked just like the Cobra Commander,” said Aaron.
“Who’s the Cobra Commander?” replied Jessica. “Is he some kind of Megalomaniac or something like that?”
“Yes.”
“Where is he?”
“Jess he’s a character of fiction.”
“Oh.”
“Anyway why should this ruin our Spring Break? Let’s party.”
“You guys can. But I’ve gotta go.”
Jessica then walked away and the group just looked at her. They guessed that she was just going back to the apartment for a while. But really Jessica was thinking of a way she could stop this guy.

A few hours later Sarah returned to where they were staying during Spring Break. She was surprised to see Jessica on her laptop. She was just sitting on her bed typing things away. Her fingers were typing so fast that the computer was having a hard time keeping up with her.
“What are you doing Jessica?” asked Sarah.
“Researching,” replied Jessica.
“About that guy?”
“Yeah there’s already a lot of reports on here about his little announcement. I’m just seeing what going to happen.”
“It’s probably just some hoax.”
“That maybe but I need to be sure. This guy might just be someone who thinks he can get everything he wants out of an empty threat. Or he could have the nuclear weapons and the world is in big trouble.”
“So what are you going to do?”
“I’m going to find him.”
“And how are you going to do that?”
“Well using your laptop I can discover the origin of the signal. Then it’s a simple matter of getting there.”
Sarah then walked over to Jessica and looked at the screen. The screen had several lines of code on it and she was amazed that she was even able to get that up. Her laptop had no hacking software.
“How did you do this?” asked Sarah.
“It’s easy,” replied Jessica. “I just accessed the program and then I’m using the data to triangulate…” she could see that Sarah wasn’t understanding a word she was saying. “I’ll tell you later.”
Just then the image of the hooded man’s head came on the screen. This made Sarah jump a little.
“It’s him,” said Sarah. “What does he want this time?”
“Nothing it’s just a repeat of the last message,” replied Jessica. Then the video shrank in size and a digital image of the globe appeared on the screen. Above it was the word searching.
It then found its general area near the south coast of Australia. Jessica began to zoom in and she could see a small island off the south west of Australia. She continued to zoom in until she got a full view of the island.
“That’s where he is,” said Jessica.
“Where exactly is that?” replied Sarah.
“Not too far away from Australia. It makes sense.”
“What does?”
“If I was going to release a nuclear bomb I would want to be as far away as possible. If it was a hoax he would have been a lot closer to home.”
“So do you think he’s serious?”
“Yes I do.”
“But how are you going to get there?”
“I don’t know. I can think of a way.” She then sighed. “If I was back home I could have used a teleporter. But since I can’t make one in such short time I’ll have to find an alternate method.”

Jessica had a small problem. She only had three days to reach this island that was on the other side of the planet. But she also didn’t have a passport since she wasn’t native to this reality.
But Jessica was very intelligent and she began to think of a way around this problem. She could get a plane to Australia and then get a boat to the island. But getting on the plane would be fairly difficult without a passport. But she thought that her size changing powers would help her.
Sarah was still in the room when Jessica was thinking. She looked over to her friend and gave her a little smile.
“You wouldn’t mind giving me a ride to the airport?” asked Jessica.
“You’re going to fly to that island?” replied Sarah.
“Of course not. I’m going to Australia.”
“How do you plan on getting there?”
“I find a flight to Australia. I shrink into someone’s luggage and then I just get a ride there. When we get there I leave and get myself a boat and got to the island from there. Hopefully it’ll work.”
“But will you be alright?”
“Yeah I’ll be fine. I’ve dealt with a lot worse in my time. I don’t have a second to lose. If this guy’s gonna nuke the Americas millions and millions will be killed.”
“Ok I’ll take you.”
“Thank you.”
A few minutes later the two friends got into the car and they drove away to the nearest airport. Sarah just told the others that Jessica had had an important call and had to leave immediately. They understood and let them go without any fuss. They had no idea that Jessica was going to try and save them all.
Eventually they got the airport and Sarah felt a little nervous. She had never known Jessica face such dangers. She gave her friend a quickly hug before she left for the Australia.
“You sure you’ll be alright?” asked Sarah.
“Yeah I’ll be fine,” replied Jessica. “I’ll give you a call when it’s all over. You don’t have to worry about a thing.”
“Good luck Jessica.”
“Thank you.”
Jessica then left the car and went into the airport. She was feeling a little nervous. But right now she couldn’t afford to be afraid. She just went inside and had a look at the flight board. Thankfully for her there was a flight to Perth Australia that was being checked in.
She quickly went to where everyone was queuing up. She noticed someone about to join the queue. It was a man and he had one case. One of the pockets was open and Jessica saw her opening.
Before she did anything she looked around to see if anyone was watching. When she was sure that she wasn’t been seeing she activated her belt and she began to shrink. She quickly shrank small enough to fit into the pocket. But when she did get inside she shrank herself further so that she would be harder to detect by airport staff. But now she was on her way. She was unsure what was going to happen. She was going to either save everyone or watch them die.

Jessica was being thrown around a lot inside the suitcase. She had expected this but it still made her feel uneasy. Thankfully she had a fairly strong stomach or else her last meal would be coming back up.
But after several minutes the suitcase came still and this was somewhat of a relief for Jessica. But now all she could do was sit and wait for them to reach Perth. But she accepted that this was going to be a very long flight and she would more then likely have needed a good book. Preferable one that would take her a while to read.
But she didn’t have this so she began to look around in the suitcase to see if she could find anything that would keep her occupied for a while. All she could find was instructions on some medication. It wasn’t the greatest reading material in the world but she could understand it.
“Ok what do I do when I get to Perth?” asked Jessica to herself. “Getting to the island will be another challenge. I could grow and swim to the island. But I’d be spotted and they’d likely launch the nukes. If they have any of course. I need to get on the island undetected.”
Thankfully for Jessica she had a long time to think about this problem. But on top of this she wouldn’t have any money and she didn’t have time to earn any. She had to think of a way to getting to the island for free.
But then she began to feel tired and she felt comfortable on the clothes. She lay down and slowly she began to fall asleep. She didn’t realise just how long she had been awake for.
But when Jessica woke up it was to the suitcase moving around. She didn’t know how long she had been sleeping for but she guessed that it had been a long time. She could tell that they had landed and were unloading the luggage. Now she had to think of a way to get out before she was taken by the owner. She also had to make sure that the coast was clear.
First Jessica increased her size until she was a few inches tall. She poked her head out of the pocket to see what was going on. She could see a lot more luggage around her and they were moving. She quickly got out and saw the luggage go out to the passengers. But she still couldn’t be seen until she had gotten past passports and security. If she went through without a passport she’d be taken back. If the security forced her to take her belt off she would shrink infinitely.
She had to sneak out of the airport through the back door and hope that she wouldn’t be spotted. She had to stay tiny so not to be detected by anyone. But this just made her goal more difficult to achieve.
She had to climb down a lot of steps and dart for cover whenever she saw anyone. But eventually she saw an exit that was used by the staff. It would lead her out of the airport and from there she could simple grow up to her normal size and just walk the rest of the way.
But just before she reached the door she saw someone coming. Unfortunately she had no cover and she didn’t have time to shrink. Instead she collapsed on the ground and pretended to be lifeless. She also put on a smile.
Eventually a woman picked her up and took a close look at her. She had to make sure that she didn’t move at all. She couldn’t even blink.
“They make these dolls very realistic nowadays,” said the Woman. “Better take you to the lost and found.”

Jessica was soon carried off the lost and found. She didn’t want to go there but she also didn’t want to blow her cover. If they realised that she was real they might try and hold her against her will. She was just going to try and escape when no one was looking. But it wasn’t going to be easy.
Eventually Jessica reached the lost and found. There was someone sitting at a desk reading a magazine. The woman carrying Jessica looked towards the man but he didn’t notice her.
“Can I put this thing in here?” asked the woman.
“Sure,” replied the man.
The woman then entered a room and put Jessica into a basket. She then walked away and locked the door behind her. Now that the coast was clear Jessica was able to move. She quickly got herself out of the basket and landed on the ground. She brushed some dust off of her.
“I thought she’d never leave,” she said to herself. “Now just to get out.” She then walked up to the door. But she already knew that it was locked. But there was a tiny gap underneath the door. It was too small for her to go through at her current size. But that wasn’t a problem for her. “I guess size does matter.”
She then shrank herself even smaller until she was a fraction of an inch tall. She then simple walked under the door. When she got out the other side she increased her size to her previous one. She carefully went past the man sitting at the desk. But since he was pre-occupied this wasn’t too difficult for her. She just strolled past him and left through the partially open door.
But when she left she saw that she was near to the entrance of the airport. She was almost out of there. But she had to find a private place to increase her size. She was still the size of a doll and she couldn’t grow in public.
But thankfully not too far away Jessica could see the ladies’ restroom. The only problem that she had to walk across to it. At her current size it was the size of a football pitch and there were people walking all over it. She would have to be carefully. One of them could very easily step on her.
“Well here goes nothing.”
She then began to run across the ground. She had to dodge a few people from stepping on her. But thankfully for her no one seemed to notice her. She just ran and ran. She was thankful that she was quite agile.
It took her a few minutes but she was able to reach the ladies’ restroom. She saw a cubical that was unoccupied and she ran to it. She then grew a little so that she would be able to close the door.
When it was shut she grew back up to her normal height. She then left the cubical and looked at herself in the mirror. She quickly put her hair right so that she didn’t stick out and then she left.
“That went well,” she said to herself.
She then walked out of the airport like she was any other passenger. But now the problem of getting to this mysterious island was going to be an issue. She still didn’t have any money and she didn’t know anyone here. She couldn’t use her size changing powers to the upper limits because she didn’t want anyone to know that she was there. She was in a predicament but it was something that her genius level intellect would be able to help her out with.

Jessica had to really think about what she was going to do now. She had gotten herself into Australia and that was half her problem solved. Now just getting to the island was going to be extremely difficult.
“Come on jess there’s got to be someway,” she thought to herself. “You hurried this and now you’re stuck.”
Just then not too far away she saw what seemed to be a bar. She saw an advertisement on the front of it about a fighting tournament. She looked at the poster a little better and she could see that there was two different divisions. There was a division for both men and women. This would be ideal for her and there was a thousand dollar prize for the winners of these divisions.
Normally Jessica wouldn’t waste time with doing anything like this. But since she could use the money to hire herself a boat she had no choice but to go inside. She decided to increase her height to a little over 6 feet so that she stood a better chance of winning this little tournament. Thankfully for her it was starting an hour and it was almost time for the signing up to finish.
Jessica approached a man sitting behind a desk. He had a pen and paper with him and there were several names on it. He looked at Jessica for a moment and then looked at his watch.
“You’re lucky,” he said. “In three minutes you would have been too late.”
“I guess that is lucky,” replied Jessica.
“Name please?”
“Jessica Palmer.”
He then wrote it down onto paper. “Any nicknames you want to use?”
“No.”
“Before you can sign up properly we need to know if you have any medical conditions that could impair your fighting abilities?”
“No.”
“And do you agree that if you suffer any injuries during your fights the Drunken Duck can not be liable.”
“Yes.”
“Good but before you can enter do you have any weapons on your person?”
“No.”
“Good now wait at the bar. The tournament will start momentarily. Feel free to have a drink. The first is on the house.”
“I will do.”
Jessica then walked to the bar and had a drink. She could see a couple of the other competitors sitting on a table not too far from her. A couple of the men whistled at her but she just ignored them.
One of them decided to walk up to her and sit right next to her. He smiled at her and giggled a little.
“Can I help you?” asked Jessica.
“Yeah nice legs,” replied the Man. “What time they open?”
Jessica instantly gave him a slap. She had hit him with almost full force but he only seemed to find it funny. He quickly got himself back up and he laughed at her once more. He still had his grin.
“I like a woman with spunk,” he said.

“Believe me I’m more woman then you can handle,” said Jessica. She then glared at him a little as he got back to his feet.
“Well maybe you need a little convincing,” replied the man.
“Are you threatening me?”
“Maybe I am or maybe I’m not. I’ll leave that to you.”
He then sniggered and walked away. She was a little confused but she tried not to think much of it. If anything did happen she would be able to defend herself easily. Not only did she have the fighting skills but she also had size on her side.
But just then she heard her name called out. She looked towards where the sound came from and she could see a man with a microphone standing near the cage where all the fighting would commence.
“Miss Palmer can you come here please,” he said.
“Oh right,” replied Jessica. She then quickly finished her drink off and walked towards him. Right next to him was a small box on a table.
“Ok Miss Palmer you wouldn’t mind drawing out a number for me please.”
“Ok.” She then put her hand into the box and she took out a piece of paper. She then opened it up and took a look at the number. “Number Six.”
“Thank you that draws you up with Olga.”
“Who’s Olga?”
She then looked at the bar and saw a tall muscular blonde woman drinking a full pint of beer like it was water. Jessica felt a little intimidated but she had faced worst opponents then her.
“Good luck,” said the Announcer. “You’re going to need it.”
Not too long after Jessica picked her number the first set of matches started. This little tournament started with the women’s first round. Jessica sat and watched the first two fights. She would face one of these women in the final. She was impressed by all of them. But then she noticed Olga looking at her from a short distance. She laughed a little at her and walked up to her.
“So I’ll be fighting you,” said Olga.
“That’s right,” replied Jessica.
“You’re tall I admit but I’m taller and as you can see I’m a lot stronger then you. I’ll do you a favour. Give up now and I won’t have to hurt you.”
“Ain’t going to happen. Strength isn’t everything.”
“We’ll see in the cage.”
A few minutes after this confrontation it was time for the third match. This was Olga vs. Jessica. They both entered the cage and they stared at each other for a moment. They were each given an armband. Olga received a red armband while Jessica received a blue one.
“With the blue armband reigning champion of the Women’s league, the self proclaimed strongest woman in the world Olga,” said the Announcer. Olga then lifted her arms up. “And with the blue armband a newcomer who comes all away from America. The lovely Jessica Palmer.” Jessica just stood there and looked at Olga. “Ok ladies you know the rules. No hair pulling, no weapons and no killing.”
The bell then rang to start the match.
