Here they come. They think they own the world.

I’m glad that it is finally warm enough out for me to have my morning coffee on the terrace.  It’s quiet up here this morning and I can get some work done.  I set my laptop on the table beside my coffee cup and make myself comfortable in the chair

Well look, I have company.  Good morning, pigeon.  Sorry I don’t have anything to feed you but you must know they don’t want us to feed you guys and encourage you to hang around here.  No offense but that’s how it is.  Pigeons can’t help it if they’re pigeons.  It’s just that a lot of you together can be messy and noisy.

She flew away; I didn’t mean to hurt her feelings.  I like birds, but pigeons are kind of like the cockroaches of the bird world.

Whoa!  She’s back and she has a twig in her beak.  She lays it carefully on my terrace floor and flies away again.  And here comes another with another twig, Squatters! I have squatters, and they're already building a home on my property without so much as a by your leave!

This won’t do.  I get up and brush the twigs away thinking that should discourage them.  Not so.  Here they come again.  More twigs.  No!  You don’t get it!  You can’t live here!  This is a terrible place to raise a family.  Shoo!  Go away!

Oh so that’s how it is!  You won’t shoo?

I can’t believe they’re back with more twigs.  The nerve of them!  Go away!  This is my place.  Go get your own.

Here they come again.  I can see this isn’t going to be easy.
