THE JACARANDA: a winsome beauty
Soft violet blossoms
grace a prosaic tree;
trunk, branches awesome
are expansive and free ~
grace a prosaic tree,
obscured beauty kept
silent, no revelry,
to loudness inept ~
trunk, branches awesome,
fern-like leaves surrounding
fair winsome blossoms ~
birds, beauty, resounding
are expansive and free
secreted in green ~
profound purple decree:
subtle crowning preen.
