SPOUSES AND DOGS

A sleeping spouse and a dog,
What is the difference?
The answer depends on what
Maybe your preference.

Beauty is enhanced in sleep,
About this there’s no doubt.
Who wins out of the two is
Something to think about.

Those who wake a sleeping spouse
For having overslept,
Better be prepared to face
Rather sullen neglect.

Those who wake a sleeping dog,
With a biscuit in hand,
Can be sure he’ll wag his tail
And do any errand.

But if you touch playfully
Both the dog and the spouse,
The former will jump and bite.
The spouse won’t have a grouse!
