Hoc est Mineum Corpus
A balad about my niece's First Communion

O there she stands receiving bread
Resplendent in her white
Tiara perched upon her head
Casts off the candlelight

Once this received she takes the cup
Raised slowly to her lip
And vowing faith with all her heart
She takes a tiny sip

For weeks she's learned what she must do
And what one word to say
A solemn rite she passes now
This First Communion Day
