Man on the Moon
Catch a star for me Save me from inevitable doom For I'm drowning in this cup, can you see That it's half full as I wish For optimistic I be Man on the Moon, sitting in bliss Please use thy moonbeams to wash away my tears Let thy glow allow me to kiss Away begone my fears Man on the Moon Can you see the mask my soul stubbornly wears I'm in a room Closing in with shadows Please, Man on the Moon As I sit here, nose pressed to my windows Let me come be with thee Let me fly over the pale, night meadows Let me ride the blinding stars to flee This hole that I dug myself flawless I am blind here, yet on the moon I shall see The truth as I sit here powerless As the mists rise above the moon If I just close my eyes fearless Man on the Moon I know you'll catch a star for me
