Night's Birth
I'm in awe of a summer night. One of God's gifts to us.

Curious eyes fixed in veneration
As a velvet curtain shrouds the nation

Glistening pin-pricks in deepest ebony
And the golden-amber orb I clearly see

Featureless beings extending; silently praising
A fortunate feathered huntress is perched and tasting

Cool plush carpet cradles my insignificant form
God's magnificence displayed outright as each night's born
