"The Kid" here.
This is to respond to your e-mail to us concerning the upcoming Sales & Marketing staff meeting. "The Kid" prefers the full day (casual dress, offsite) get-together; it would be my first staff meeting with Kaiser personnel, as I never was invited to Sales & Marketing, or Group Sales, or Group Sales & Service, or Enrollment & Group Relations staff meetings, except for one in Sales & Marketing, which was promptly canceled. "The Kid" prefers "a ‘kind of rally' to get to know each other", as I don't know everyone in the group. The adult in me (let's see...I thought I put him around here somewhere!) says it should have some informational value, but I wonder why they can't be combined? That is, information presented in a "pep rally" kind of way? For us new kids on the block, can you cover what this department exactly does, and how we fit in? "The Kid" would appreciate it. Or, to put this another way: Your e-mail came, And was read, yes, by us - "The Kid" and the Adult, With a minimum of fuss. "There's a Meeting to be called; Where and what shall we say? And, again, how shall we say it? And shall it last all the day?" The Adult needs to work, "There's a job to be done!" But "the Kid" wants to play "Let's hit the road, have some fun!" So the Adult wants it short, And educational to boot; But "the Kid" says, "All Day! And the rally'd be a hoot!" The Adult says, "Just teach; Make it plain, make it clear;" But "the Kid" says, "No Way! Let us know the ones we're near!" "Just how do we fit In this group that we're in? How do we team-play today? Please let me know just where we've been!" Now, the question, as I see it, It is simple, it is keen; It's "the Kid" or it's the Adult; I have looked, I have seen... "The Kid" and the Adult Read your e-mail, so Since "the Kid" is the stronger, The Adult's gotta go! So my vote's with "the Kid" Not a "half-day" affair! "The Kid's" in my heart, But the Adult's in my hair! The Adult's got the "Know-how" And his knowledge is like art - But "the Kid" has got the wisdom, ‘Cause he's thinking from the heart.
