The very moment he had to leave,
She knew that he will be going forever,
On the front passenger seat he sat heavily
While his face twisted in pain
She knew then, that was the end.

She refused to go near him,
As she always never had,
In fear of his frightful relapses
That she could never accept
Ever since her childhood days
The sheer fright was instilled forever.

That day was the last of a lifetime,
She ever saw him breathing at home,
The mere thoughts of that moment
Still bring childish tears in her grown up days
She knew then, that was the end.

No one believed her heart,
And called her a negative spot,
As she shed tears so uncontrollable
They said she was crying futile fears
He will be alright that is for sure
And be back home healthy and strong.

He played the purpose of his role,
Somehow; those sixteen years,
She had tried to reach out to him
With her tiny little heart
That he meant so much to her
She knew then, that was the end.

He could not always be there for her,
As his fate was not in his hands,
It made him sleepy most of the time
Though she wished he was a strong figure
Moulding and guiding her into a tough little cookie.

He managed to see her outpouring tears,
Flowing with no emotional control,
The sorrows of life not lived properly
A part of upbringing left so unfulfilled
A role she can never replace
She knew then, that was the end.

If she can recall, all he managed was a nod,
At least that is what she believes
With hopes that he knew then
That she will truly miss him and had loved him so
As this was all a part of God's stage play.

And on that fateful, clear day,
When her tears were all dried up,
People were urging her to cry out
But she just so wanted to tell them
That as her flowing tears had predicted
She knew then, that was the end.
