Waiting
praying and waiting

Oh I pray for the day
When God embraces me
And my feet begin to lift without restraint
My soul at last will rest with ease
for this day shall pass
with no signs of fear
Alas Indeed!

My desire is to be different
So far this life has been so unkind
Days spent silently shedding tears
Sitting in a corner without delight
Night falls and I'm left with no one to hold me tight
A daughter mourning her father gone from the life
A love confessed only to manifest
Into a chain that binds me

But at this moment
I realize I must
Set my sights to that
Day when I will be able
to love a-gain
Never, ever wanting
to feel mistrust
Or the slightest disgust
Forgiveness is this being
That begins to overshadow me
How can this be when I
Constantly continue to pursue that
Which lies behind and beneath me?

For I am not used to letting go
But cannot deny the feeling of
Being free deep down inside
Activated and consumed by the flesh burning flame
My life will forever be changed

Now I do believe
Knowing what must be done
No longer scared to lose
Or to face the ultimate outcome
He has seen my heart
And to my surprise he is pleased
A place of warmth and gladness
No longer a destination for sadness

Set in motion
To visit the world
And to share this word
Nothing more or nothing less
Until that time
I'm destined to find
Others to feed as
I will confess God's love
He's bestowed upon me
Until then
I'll do my best

God Bless
