Foreboding days
the tunnel looms close. My body, like fragile glass, I could step too close. Why does it pull me, a bewitching force? I envision this broken angel Wings frail, fallen off course. Pain filled days I cling to life, a slender thread at times. Like a helpless kitten, a prayer heard is my lifeline. The blind lady selling apples, joy filled face touched by grace. How can one frown gazing on a love filled face? Children's laughter rings the pond gleams in sunshine's glow. Cherubs pour their liquid balm, a never ending flow. I return to my sanctuary, the tunnel now shines. I hold God's hand of strength, claim pain's power as mine. . By Kathie Stehr edited Oct. 10, 2010
