A Better Me
Being a new mother Is a happy event they say, But the day I was born She just wished I'd go away. They say she was a free spirit And couldn't settle down, Then one day she was gone, And was never to be found. I missed my mothers love Of that I was deprived Some days I would question God.. Please tell me why I'm alive. Then one day it came to me I didn't do anything wrong, I had my grandparents love And was right where I belonged. On the day I became a mother My heart was full of joy, And I promised all my love To that beautiful baby boy. To him I was a loving mother And was always near, I didn't want him to grow up like me Full of anger and great fear. God always has a perfect plan That we may not always see, Growing up without my mothers love Only made a better me.
