Highway to Hope
Ah yes, I remember it well, Hope was my destination, My rendezvous with the future To be of service to the nation. On Friday night my graduation On Saturday I raised my thumb On the highway to Hope And to the person I would become. Hope, the lovely town in the Rockies My nearest recruiting centre The beginning of my future Where I longed to find my mentor. Hope, the starting point of my career The hopes and dreams of my childhood Were now to be fulfilled To dedicate my life and do some good. Ah yes, I remember it well, Where the Coquihalla and Fraser Rivers unite To enter the famed Fraser River canyon No where in the world such a commanding sight. April 21, 2008
