When you cancel Drs. Appointments

As the sun came up this morning,
I glanced at you in bed.
No breathing was my warning.
I sensed that you were dead.

I grabbed and pulled you next to me.
My tears they fell like rain.
I just could not begin to see.
Where to place the blame.

The Doctor said," She had no sign"
It was her time to go."
The cop said, "There was no crime"
" I just thought you ought to know".

Now I stand and stare at you,
A photograph on the wall.
You should have had a checkup too.
But you went and canceled all.
