In-Between
Poem about my teenage daughter.

In-between

No longer a child,
Not yet fully grown,
So much she still needs to learn,
So much she doesn't know.

She longs to spread her wings,
And glide upon the breeze,
Soaring over mountain tops,
And sailing above the seas.

Sometimes feeling frightened,
Of new feelings felt within,
But on the outside, acting brave,
For family and her friends.

Her heart is genuine,
Honest and true,
Easily trusting,
Easy to bruise.

The next few years will be difficult,
As she continues to grow inside,
But then too soon, her time will come,
And then we will see her shine.
