When Alice raised her left leg out of sync with the rest of the chorus girls, her right leg hit Maria, the girl in front of her. She caught her breath and stumbled. And lo! The entire line-up ahead of her tumbled forward like a falling stack of dominoes.

"Ooooooo ...!" The audience gasped collectively, as the girls fell, some getting crushed by the others falling on top of them. The line-up behind Alice stood in mute shock, their legs still raised in a half-step.

Alice, brushing herself, got up, staggered to the microphone, and mumbled, "Sorry."
