A soft breeze ruffling the tree
An empty nest, hollow the bliss.
Robin’s home, alone but for me,
No greeting tweet, the morning kiss.
Looking down upon the green lawn,
                             Chipmunks scurrying for a meal-
Robin, I hope you are not gone.
Upon your wings my joy I feel.

The sun, covered by a cloudy haze
Adding dampness of last night’s rains,
                             Stunning, the diffused golden rays.
Children wait to expand their brains,
Passing the time until their bus.
Two happy young girls stand and chat,
A shy beauty holds back, no fuss,
The bashful boy in a black hat.

The solitaire boy turns from the group,
                             Shyly giving glance and walking.
The beauty in back, with a swoop,
Took his spot but still not talking.
Now, Mr. Black Hat spins his head,
Sheepishly walks back to his place.
Girl, a slight smile, poor boy, you’re dead.
Tweet-tweet from her nest, Robin’s face-
