ancient wisdom

ancient wisdom visits my dreams
love and hate play eternal themes
death takes my jaded need's dismay
my last breath makes the angels sway
lifting veils from their whispered screams

vanquished demons cannot redeem
rich sacred verse heaven esteemed
lost in temptation's bright array...
ancient wisdom

I wake peacefully, as tears stream
clear white light bathes me like moonbeams
my deathly mask falls, bringing day
to night's dim shadows to portray
ancient wisdom
