A Leap Of Faith
A poem full of misery and self-pity. Written in the Rispetto form.

I've battled ghosts for far too long—
My memories that will not fade—
Attempted to stay brave and strong;
I'm weary of this masquerade.

I'll climb the stairs and pause to see
A world that's been too cruel to me
And then I'll leap, for now I know
That only death can banish woe.

(A rispetto: 2 quatrains, written in iambic tetrameter with a rhyme scheme of abab ccdd.)
