Ruth

Ruth was in the kitchen making cookies. She had a streak of dough on her face and flour up to her elbows.
Ruth's brother was having his last guys Bible studies before the holidays. Every one was there for the Bible study. Caleb was moving chairs around so Josh stood near the kitchen to get out of the way.
Ruth looked up and saw Josh watching her. "It looks like you are having fun," said Josh. "Ever since I was little I have loved making cookies," replied Ruth.
Ruth was cleaning up and looked in the mirror. She saw the streak of dough. "O great, Josh saw me like this thought Ruth but I don't care." After the Bible study the guys ate some of Ruth's cookies. Caleb said, "I don't know if I want to eat these since Ruth made the cookies. I'm not sure what she put in it." Every one knew he was kidding. Josh looked at Ruth. She had pretty blue eyes and a wonderful smile. Caleb saw Josh watching Ruth. Caleb thought" Why haven't I seen this before. They would fit perfect together. I'll just sit back and watch the Lord work.
Ruth's family has an apple farm and every year they would have a picking party. Ruth was walking around the trees. She heard her name and looked up. There was Josh looking down at her. " Ruth would you take this bay and dump it into that basket," asked Josh. " Sure, said Ruth as he took the bag and dumped it.
Caleb was at the next tree picking apples. He was having fun watching Josh watch Ruth. Caleb knew Josh already lost his heart to Ruth. Now Caleb wasn't it all that up on love but he knew what love looked like. A lot of his friends were finding is their mates. The Lord hasn't sent Caleb a girl yet but he was still praying for one.
The holidays came and went. During that time Ruth and Josh talked but did nothing more. The New Year had begun. Caleb pulled Josh over to talk with him one Sunday. " Josh, man when are you going to ask my dad," asked Caleb. "You know?" asked Josh. " Every one can tell you are glowing," said Caleb. " I wanted to talk to you about that. I know you and Ruth are close. I wanted to asked what do you think about me and your sister," asked Josh. "Well most guys I would say back-off and get lost. But you I think you are the best thing that could happen for Ruth. I know she is ready to get married. She is content but I have over heard her praying. Don't tell her I told you. " Thanks for the thumbs up. You are a great friend," said Josh.
The next night Josh came over to talk with Mr. Campbell. A few days later Josh took Ruth to a park and Caleb went with them. While they were walking Caleb went off on his own and left Ruth and Josh in eyesight. Josh had hired a photographer to take pictures while he was asking Ruth to marry him. The guy taking the pictures was pretending to take pictures of other things but he was taking pictures of Josh and Ruth. Josh sat Ruth down and said, "The first time I saw you had dough on your face, flour on your nose and up to your elbows. You looked so cute. Then as I talked to you more and your family the Lord was driving me toward you. The first time I was you I lost it. There is no other girl I rather be with then you. Would you marry me?" asked Josh. " Josh, Ruth paused. Caleb could see Josh holding his breath. Caleb looked around there was a crowd of people watching Ruth and Josh. They were waiting to see what Ruth would say. The photo guy took a picture of the crowd. " Yes, Josh I'll marry you," replied Ruth. The crowd clapped and cheered. Ruth and Josh looked up and both laughed.
Josh and Ruth had a spring wedding. Josh's sister came from New York for the wedding. Amber was like down to businesswomen. Amber was one of the bridesmaids. Caleb watched her during the wedding. She was pretty but she just had a way about her. Amber seems to stand out from everyone else. Josh and Ruth had left on their honeymoon. Some of their gifts had gotten into Caleb's car. So he took them over to Josh's house. When Caleb rang the doorbell Amber answered the door. Amber had auburn shoulder length hair, green eyes, and she was bare foot. " I came by to drop some gifts off that got in my car yesterday," said Caleb. " Bring them in," replied Amber. After Caleb was done unloading the car he asked Amber "My mom and I are going to go out for lunch would you like to come? " Your mom wouldn't mind?" asked Amber. "No, not at all," replied Caleb. My mom and I are going to go out for lunch would you like to come? " Your mom wouldn't mind?" asked Amber. "No, not at all," replied Caleb.
Amber got in the back seat. She asked Caleb about the town and other things. Every once in a while Caleb looked in the mirror at Amber. He asked himself is she the girl for me? After they had ate lunch Mrs. Campbell went to the restroom. Caleb saw Amber rubbing her head. "Is something wrong?" asked Caleb. " O it is nothing just a little headache," replied Amber. "Do you want something to help you?" asked Caleb. "Thanks, I'll be ok it is just if I have my hair up for a long time I get headaches." Explained Amber. "Why do you wear it up?" asked Caleb. " I guess I have wore it up for so long I'm just use to doing it," replied Amber. She took the clip out of her hair and her hair fell down. Amber's hair saw one of the things Caleb liked about her. He had to keep himself from reaching out and touching it. Caleb was 28 and Amber was 25 so he was only three years older then her.
Amber was tried of the busy life in New York and she hated wearing shoes. While Amber was in Spring Dale she didn't have many headaches because she left her hair down.
Amber was walking around town and she was Caleb. While Amber was walking toward him, He heard a voice the said " you are going to marry her." Caleb looked around but he didn't see anyone. They had been walking together when Amber told him that she was moving to Spring Dale. "I'm just tied of the life up north. I'm ready to start a new life," said Amber. "What about your work?" asked Caleb. " I'll work from home on the computer and maybe every once in a while I might have to go up north for business," said Amber.
Ruth was having her first child in a couple of months. Amber was settled in and she fitted so well in Spring Dale. Caleb was the quiet kind of guy and waited until he knew every thing was right before he went for it. Caleb knew he had to ask Amber to marry him before he went crazy.
Caleb asked Amber to marry him in surprising way. It was after church and he was holding the car door for Amber. She was about to get in the car but Caleb slipped a little box in her hand. She looked up at him then down at the box. As she opened the box and the sun caught the ring she gave a little squeak. Then people around them looked their way them went back to talking. Caleb looked deep into Amber's eyes and saw a little nod of her head. He slipped the ring on her finger. They didn't say anything for a while. Most of the people had left then Mr. & Mrs. Campbell came to the car. " Come on you love birds. I'm hungry," said Mr. Campbell. On the way home Caleb sat with Amber in the back holding her hand. Mrs. Campbell looked back at them. " Is everything ok?" she asked. Caleb answered " yes mom I think Amber is still a little shocked. The next thing Caleb knew Amber was crying. He put his arm around her and she lied her head on his shoulder. During the meal Mr. Campbell said "At least she didn't' give you a black eye when you gave her the ring." Amber looked at Caleb. " Mom and dad," replied Caleb. Mr. Campbell told the story about the black eye. " When I was a joker back in my days. I would tease Caleb's mom about marrying me. I pulled out many little boxes but not with rings in them. So she got tied of my little joke when I gave her the real thing she thought it was another box with a fake bug in it. Next thing I knew I saw a fist coming toward my eye and my eye had a burst of pain. When Sheri saw what she had done and saw it was a real ring she felt so bad and kept asking me if my eye was ok. Amber was laughing by the time Mr. Campbell was done telling the story.
Caleb & Amber got married a week before Ruth's baby was due. The wedding had just starred when Ruth whispered to Sheri and they got up and left. As soon as Josh got to the back some one told him something and he gave a yelp " I'm a father!" Everyone clapped then the pastor said, I'm proud to announced Mr. & Mrs. Campbell.
Amber & Caleb took Josh to the hospital on the way out of town. Ruth had a little boy. They named him Nathan Joshua.
Caleb and Amber went to Colorado for their honeymoon. They were sitting by the campfire when Caleb said " Amber did you know what drew me to you?" "What?" asked Amber. " You were just different somehow something stood out and also you r hair," said Caleb. " My hair?" asked Amber. " The time you took it out the day we went out to eat with my mom. Just the way it fell down it look so pretty and soft." Caleb put his face in Amber's hair. " It seem like a long time before you came along I didn't know if God had a girl for me. But I can see he saved me the best out of them all." " And I got the man I prayed for," said Amber. So I'm knight in shining Amour?" asked Caleb. " Well I wouldn't say you are all that," said Amber " Oh so... before Caleb could say anything more Amber gave him a kiss.
When they got back from their trip they invited the family over to diner. Josh asked Caleb about their trip. Caleb looked at Amber they smiled at each other and Caleb said, "We had a great time." " Is that all?" asked Mr. Campbell. " Now Steve don't push them," said Sheri. Caleb and Amber both laughed. Ruth spoke up and said, "You guys are funny to watch." " You think we are funny?" asked Caleb. " I watched Josh with you and he went crazy and lit up like a light."
Ruth had a girl and her name was Hannah Ruth. When ever the family got together Caleb would get down on the floor to play with the kids. Amber and Caleb wanted children but the Lord didn't' give them any until their third year of marriage. When Caleb and Amber found out that they were going to gave a baby they were really excited. But on night Amber woke up with pains. "Caleb it hurts," said Amber trying not to scream. "Let's get you to the hospital, something is wrong," said Caleb so they took Amber to the hospital and the doctors checked her out. Caleb was waiting with Amber in her room when the doctor came in. "I'm sorry to say that you just lost our baby," said the doctor. Amber started crying and held Caleb's hand. "Why Caleb? Why did God take our baby?" asked Amber. " I don't know sweetie. God does what he thinks best," replied Caleb. Amber had their little girl and they gave her to God. They had named her Elizabeth. Caleb asked the Lord to send another baby. Well the Lord answered and sent them another girl. Johanna was born on May 16.
Each couple went out of town for their wedding anniversaries. Ruth took care Johanna when Caleb & Amber were out of town and Caleb took care of Ruth's kids when they went out of town. Josh &Ruth went to New York. Mr. &Mrs. Campbell went to visit friends in Texas and Caleb & Amber went back to Colorado. Caleb & Amber were sitting by the fireplace in their room. " I have to check on Johanna," said Amber. "Honey, Johanna is with mom. It's just me and you," said Caleb. " Do you remember when we came here for the first time?" asked Caleb. " Yes, you said I was outstanding and my hair was the softest thing you had touched," replied Amber. " You still are outstanding and beautiful. We have been through a lot with Elizabeth and Jason in heaven. There are two blessings waiting for us. Have I proved to be your knight yet?" asked Caleb. " You are a super dad and husband. I know Johanna thinks of you as her hero," said Amber. "Wow so I'm a super hero now. I think I'm in love all over again," said Caleb. " Me too," replied Amber.
Ruth and Amber were pregnant at the same time. Their families had gone to the park. Ruth and Amber were walking in front of the guys. Caleb was talking to Josh. " It look like we have ducks for wives." "Yeah they sure can waddle fast," said Josh grinning at Caleb. " I heard that Caleb," Amber called back.
After they cleaned up from lunch, which they sat on the ground for. Josh helped Ruth up off the blanket. Amber couldn't get up with out Caleb's help. Caleb started walking off. Amber told herself " I need help getting up." Nathan heard what his Aunt said. "I'll help you Aunt Amber. I'm very strong see," Nathan showed his arm. "Thanks Nathan but I need your Uncle Caleb to help me," replied Amber " Caleb John, you get over right now," called Amber. "Why should I help you Mrs. Campbell?" asked Caleb. " Because I'm fat and I can't get up. You make me so made!" said Amber. " I like it when you get mad. You are so cute." Said Caleb. " What am I suppose to with you!" exclaimed Amber. "You can give me a kiss," said Caleb as he started running away. "Those two!" laughed Ruth & Josh.
It was Christmas morning after breakfast the kids, Nathan, Hannah Ruth, and Timothy were ripping open their gifts. Josh gave a box to Ruth. When she opened it there was a diamond necklace. " What is this for?" asked Ruth. " Just for being my wife," answered Josh by giving Ruth a kiss.
Nathan saw his parents kissing. " Yuck, I don't like girls," said Nathan. " O but you will," said Josh. " Don't you like me," asked Hannah Ruth. "Yeah but not how mommy likes daddy," replied Nathan. The two kids made funny faces at each other. Ruth and Josh laughed at them.
Mr. & Mrs. Campbell moved in with Amber and Caleb. They had a little house behind theirs but it was connected. After Amber had John who was their second son they had four more kids. Making it eight kids. Two in heaven and six normal. The other four kid's names were Joy, Anne, Faith, and Ben. Grandpa and Grandma pasted away after Ben was born.
Josh and Ruth ‘s children, Nathan became a youth pastor & had four kids. Hannah Ruth stayed at home with her six kids. Timothy was a missionary to Canada & he had three children.
Caleb & Amber's children were, Johanna married a music leader & had nine children. John was a teacher & he had three kids, the fourth one went to heaven. Joy married a designer & had four kids. Anne married a pastor & had five children. Ben was a camp director in Texas and had seven children.
Steve & Sheri Campbell had eleven grand children and forty-three great grand children.
They lived as a big, big happy family.
