In my heart, they live on!

The memories remain ever so strong
of Mom and Dad who loved me so.
Even times when I was wrong
their love was there with a gentle "no."

When I was young they were my life,
keeping me safe from every harm.
Teaching me how to avoid the strife
and make each day a charm.

My school years passed, in a blur
of studying, playing and having fun.
It was hectic, to be sure
but home was where I found the sun.

Off to college, I cried for days
for missing my family was agony.
Phone calls and letters were my main ways
to keep me from being ever so lonely.

Now they are gone and the tears still fall
yet I know they will always be here for me.
A host of memories arise upon my call
allowing me to remember and to "see."
