ASSIGNMENT:

Have fun while you learn with this assignment.

1. Think of a favorite and least favorite relative(s) and or friend(s). Two, three, four, male, female or both. Mix and match their physical and emotional traits and come up with a totally made-up, but believable character.

Least Favorite Character - Perry; Ryan. neighbor, Jan
Favorite character - Vi, Mom, Cathy




2. Create a list of physical and emotional traits for this character. There must be conflicting traits that will affect her thoughts and actions. Remember, the more detail, the better, (at least twenty traits). Submit this list.

Least Favorite Character:

Intelligent, talented, moral, intellectual and passionate. Always has to be right, bossy, argumentative, cheap, superiority complex, biased.




3. Now give your character an appropriate name and describe your it/him/her in story form. POV is third person omniscient (fly on the wall). Use a short narrative introduction to provide a setting(mood). You are only setting the mood, not describing the Taj Mahal). As your character enters the scene, use the dialogue and observations of other characters to describe this person to the reader. His/her manner of speech, how she dresses, and other mannerisms and quirks will all help to burn your character's image into the readers minds.

(My character created from people I know does not fit the bill of protagonist that I have in mind. I am going to make up an entirely new character that describes how I see him.)
