Passing Days
As each day passes

As each day passes, the feeling should be less. There should be a creation of distance between the heart and the mind. The mind should be capable of turning off those subjective responses to the name, the memory, the heart. Those emotions that once created sensitivity, emotion, and tears should lesson.

Each day passes and my strength returns; only to become distorted in my thoughts as the memories come flooding back. Your sent, your touch, your love flood my very being as I struggle to dislodge the passion felt within my soul.

Each day brings new memories; new things to experience. Comparisons are made that bear no resemblance to the past. My yearning for you grows stronger as each word is a reflection, each action a reminder.

Each day brings more distance as the struggle continues to break the tie that binds my heart to the distant reflections. Devoted to yesterday's chronicles, the struggle to recreate the responsiveness once felt.

Each day brings a wider view of what could have been. The future will be different as next time the offer of love is given, I will hold on tighter and be more open to forever. The emptiness of that connection does make the heart more desirous.

Each day passes as we hold tight to those good days and struggle to forget the bad. Loving like morphine to an addict but learning to embrace the reflections of time gone by. Cling to reminders of gentle touches, breathless kisses and passion. Remember me in those passing days.
