This is a listing of books I have read in 2008. Take it for what it is. I just like keeping track of all the books I have read. (Wish I had started this when I was younger!) The dates are the dates I finished each book. Method: CD: Listened to on audio compact disc; B: Read in book form.

Comment: Very good. Movie did the book justice. Long but well worth it.

Comment: Very good children's book.

The Lathe of Heaven
by Ursula Le Guin (B)
Comment: Very good book. Movie did the book justice. Movie has been remade twice and they are all good with the newer movies starring big actors.

Twilight
by Stephanie Meyer (CD)
Comment: Daughter pleaded with me to read and it was worth the read. Wonderful book and although falls away from the traditional Bram Stoker's vampire, it is still a wonderful romantic books with a lot of blood and fighting thrown in. A must read.

The People of Sparks
by Jeanne DePrau (CD)
Comment: Sequel to The City of Ember and very good children's book. Good moral story and well written.

The Left Hand of Darkness
by Ursula Le Guin (B)
Comment: Very good book. Kind of confusing. That type of book where you say, "Ohhhhhhh" after you are finished. Want to go back and reread it.

Comment: Follow up book to Twilight. A must read but be warned: this book is an emotional rollercoaster! If you read Twilight you must read New Moon.

Comment: Very good book. Keeps you guessing with a twist at the end!

Comment: What can I say?! It is a book about Edward!

Thirsty

Comment: Terrible book. Left me feeling lost and unsatisfied. If you like happy endings or even endings...do not read!

Comment: Very depressing and difficult to follow. You may like it but I did not.

Comment: Same author of P.S. I love you! but not as good. Did not get happy until the end and that was kind of depressing.

Comment: Very good Neil Gaiman. Not as good as Stardust but a must read for any Neil Gaiman fans!

Comment: Very good police story. I was very surprised because I am not normally a police book reader but this was good!

Comment: Very good police story. Not as good as The Two-Minute Rule but good nonetheless.

Comment: Eh. Did not really end. Moral: Crime does not pay. Did not really go anywhere.

Nineteen Minutes
by Jodi Picoult (B)
Comment: Amazing! Very sad but amazing! I love the way Jodi Picoult gets into the minds of teens so we parents can try to understand them. Great author!

A Winter's Tale
by Dan Simmons (B)
Comment: Great horror story! Do not read at night!! Dan Simmons is a great author!

Battlefield of the Mind
by Joyce Meyer
Comment: Wonderful non-fiction Christian devotional book! A must read for all!
Be warned: You may get closer to God while reading!

The Forgotten Man
by Robert Crais (CD)
Comment: Good book! Kind of depressing but great twist ending!


Most of these books I listened to on unabridged CD's. It is a great way to "read" a book during the long drive times and long road trips. Check out your local library if listening to books interests you.
