Could have been
A silly little piece that tumbled out while I was laying down to sleep.

I could have been a lady

    with breeding and upbringing,

          of value and worth;

Good manners and charm

    would balance out

          my wickedly wonton mirth;

Calling the older ladies

    "witches" and "wenches"

          when their backs were turned;

Always a coy smile upon my lips

    and dainty teacup held

          with my pinkie extended,

    Like a flagpole erected

          in both compliance and defiance.
