FADED ROSE
As I feel with tender touch The faded rose petals, I’m reminded of that walk Along the garden path. We had not dated for long And on that special eve, You suddenly plucked a rose And put it in my hair. Can I forget that moment When our love bond was sealed? From two, we had become one For the rest of our lives. Future was yet to unveil. You left, not to return. But your memories are there Forever in my heart. Though the faded rose petals Are now fragile to touch, Your memories are enough To keep them together. • Written in 7-6-7-6 format • Awarded second place in the LOVE AND HEARTACHE contest, ""Invalid Item" M C Gupta 16 May 2008
