The Road
For Pond Poetry- Thank you WDC

The road ahead appears long and unending
The choices I have seem clear and unbending
I see that there is no left, there is no right
Only a straight narrow path, no curves in sight
I walk the line, it goes on and on for miles
I know this is one of life's many trials
Numerous times I've wanted to leave this road
Yet I still walk on for some unwritten code
I wander in the rain, 'neath ominous skies
No one around that will hear my silent cries
But all is not yet lost and all is not dark
On this path, this road here, I will leave my mark
With words I will fly and upward I will soar
I will leave the bounds of earth and go explore
I will make my own path, with words I'll be free
Up I go, thanks to the WDC.
