Insomnia's a Nightmare
Rated: 13+ | Lyrics | Dark | #1432924
Why it's hard to sleep when you're using it to get away
I'm not here
The voices of the day trail off
I'm not here
In the distance
In my head they echo louder
Why are they getting louder
When I try getting farther
Be quiet
I'm trying to sleep

You sing a grating lullaby
That gouges in my eyes
Even deeper when I try
To get away

I'm not here
The ostrich envies how deep
I bury my head
So far down
I feel hell's fire on my face
It's just my breath hitting my face
Burning me in suffocating space
Calm down
I need to sleep

There's consciousness and sleep
I'm somewhere in between
I'm running to my dreams
Meet me there

A necessity, a futility
Once gone I fall into peace
Only to find
My runaway took me in circles
No need to follow
My enemy waited for me
Through my slumber
Babies became vipers
Their fangs and words cut deep
SHUT UP!
LET ME SLEEP!

You sing a grating lullaby
That gouges in my eyes
Even deeper when I try
To get away
There's consciousness and sleep
I'm somewhere in between
I'm running to my dreams
Meet me there
Meet me there
Please meet me there

But be patient
I can't sleep
