SAND IN MY HANDS
I tarry along in life, Carrying sand in hands. Each day slips out of my grip, On rocky ground it lands. As it lands, lost forever, I wonder what I gained. My life is a day less than What yesterday remained. Sands of time in life’s hour glass Are flowing away fast. Soon the glass will be empty And then I shall not last. Do I regret that one day I won’t walk on this earth? Why should I, knowing that fake Is all this home and hearth? • Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 format • Awarded first place in the contest "Roses' Poetry Challenge", "Invalid Item" M C Gupta 3 June 2008
