The true meaning of true love
You may not remember, it happened long ago,
But it was a day that involved us both,
That we'd be together forever, we did know,
So on this we made an oath,

We swore we'd be together till the end of forever,
And a gazillion years after that,
We knew we were meant to be together,
So this we regarded as fact,

Time came along and tore us apart,
It tore my life in two,
It stopped my life by stopping my heart,
And by death I was torn from you,

I didn't rise up to Heaven above,
Or fall down to an underworld,
I was still tied to the earth by love,
So at the dark end of Heaven's pathway I curled,

I curled up in a ball to wait for you,
I cared not that the wait would be long,
I had died young, however we loved true,
We made an oath that together we did belong,

I curled there and waited, year after year,
Waiting for you to come to me,
Our love was so strong, so I did not fear,
You would show infidelity,

Then from Heaven above, the Big Man came down,
Down the staircase, to the end of the path dim,
Saying that long ago, new love you had found,
And that I was welcome to return to Heaven with Him,

God told me you'd found a new man to love,
I told Him this couldn't be so,
God welcomed me up to Heaven above,
Yet, I still said "No,"

God told me what He said was fully true,
And God I did believe,
Yet still, I believed you
That after giving your oath, you wouldn't leave,

I waited a thousand years and a thousand years more,
Waiting till to me you came,
God, Jesus, and the eleven trusted disciples I saw,
Yet my position remained the same,

I've waited here many millennia,
And I'll wait till eternity,
And a gazillion years past eternia,
For this long you said you'd love me,

So thousands and thousands of years have past,
And that you've left me, I'm starting to fear,
Yet you made me an oath our love would last,
And to each other we'd always be near,

So my insurance, is in this post,
As you're on earth, you should reply,
As you've held to our oath, that me you love most,
You must be yet to die,

By our oath you said you'll leave me never,
So you must be still alive,
So I'll wait here until forever,
Waiting for you to arrive.
