"Holding Water"

I wasn't aloud in the backyard
Because the snow was up to my father's waist
It didn't seem to fall, but rather,
Glide, like the continuous ocean tide

But it was ok
We built a fort
And snow doesn't bother Eskimos
The little opening between the arm of my jacket and my glove
Had filled with snow
I was wet

So I changed
Into a suit (that needed to be fitted)
I like wearing suits, but this one wasn't even mine
I stood as tall as I could, the snow blowing against me
I tightened my jaw
But a cold such as this isn't natural
My heart, in self-defense, had frozen over
No tears were shed
My insides were to cold to produce the water
But I loved him, and it hurt more than I showed

Then I think of Simeon
And I'm overjoyed... and... jealous
He got to hold the one,
Who holds the entire world,
In his hands
To have such an opportunity
Life would be complete
To see, and hold the King
