LIFE IS NOT DARK: a sonnet
My friend with each breath why should you bemoan? You need not think that life itself is dark. Do not forget, though embers may be gone, There lurks in ashes just a tiny spark. It’s but a spark you need to have a flame, As long as you have a burning desire. That spark, my friend, ignites your total frame And in your spirit yet enkindles fire. In fact, in this world short is our sojourn, We can’t afford to waste any moment. To win this race should be our sole concern, Though we may face too much impediment. Arise and lift your spirits, shed your gloom. Beyond the horizon sunlight does loom. • Featured in Spiritual Newsletter dated 6 August 2008 M C Gupta 7 June 2008
