on an unknown path winding along
the leftover pebbles of a river bed
longing to quench its thirst
I weave my dreams like only a poet can
letting pure sorrow and longing endure
and taint my throbbing heart
with faint echoes of your quiet voice
I raise my eyes and through the dense canopy
remember the ocean reflections of your soul
its ebb and flow engulfing my solitude
billowing my sails towards your horizon
reminding me that I may drink satisfaction
from the heartthrob of your awaiting lips
and steady my uncertain gait, as I follow
in the wake of your footsteps
