Remember what they said about curiosity and that poor cat?

A barrier is there to protect us,
That is what they say.
But barriers are something more
Than a bit of defense.

A curiosity is created of
What’s on the other side.
So we pull out our metal knife,
And strike at the shield.

We push and we pull,
We pry and we break.
And the barrier falls away,
Its security destroyed.

What is left behind,
Will shock us in the end.
Then we wish to restore the barrier,
A little wisdom gained.

But we will realize
That we cannot move.
Our arms are stiff and sore,
Our mind is weak and tired.

There’s a ringing in our ears,
And our vision is blurry.
The burning spreads through our body,
Red blood begins to show.

As the world fades away,
We realize what’s in store.
For what good is a barrier,
If it’s lying on the floor?
