The Water Lilies of Claude Monet
A poem about Monet's historic paintings.

The gamely French master’s time-honored legacy:
The extremely rare series of paintings
Depicting his exquisite and legendary water lilies…
Brilliant, wholesome white petals
Rising delicately and serenely
From a glossy, pale-green lily pad;
The gorgeous and colorful aqueous plant life
In watery opalescence,
A reflecting body of water
Showing unique forms and jungle-like shadows.
The wondrous and premier paintings
Of an astutely talented and original artist,
Whose meshing of life-like vision and
Superb impressionist inspiration radiate passion
In each classic, shimmering hue.
The late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries
Were truly a blessed time for superbly genuine
And remarkably historic fine art…
