WE CHANGE WITH TIME
Almost every young man starts His life thinking that he Will change this world into a Place that’s happy and free. Every young lady marries A man thinking that she Will change him into one whose Manners are not ugly. Every young kid has dreams of Flying an aeroplane. Having grown, his dreams change to Things that are more mundane. When we start the life’s journey, We have much ambition. But, with time, it changes to A style full of caution. A change is always welcome. It does not mean failure. Changing means adapting to Thoughts that are more mature. * Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 format. The third line of each stanza has a thematic refrain. * Written for “Lexi’s poetry challenge” contest, "Lexi's Poetry Challenge" M C Gupta 13 June 2008
